3 Houses worth in total nearly £2 million sell or rent???

  • You're presumably declaring all this income from your two additional houses to HMRC?

And because of this legitimate business you've got going with letting houses, you'd be able to give us addresses of those two rented houses and we'd be able to find historical rental advertisements on the net for those two, thus proving they exist and this isn't a MUB situation?

Without that you'll struggle to get answers on here...
  • Sell them all and invest the cash in bitcoins 💰

Personally I'd keep & carry on renting them out, long term prices in London only go up.
ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.
  • If you ever manage to get US citizenship, please do come back and tell me so I can eat my hat.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, then we can't answer fully without knowing your full financial position. If you are looking to emigrate then you'll need to look into the tax position/legality of being a LL whilst in another country. Then decide if it is worth it, perhaps liquidate one or two, keep one or two as rental to spread the risk.

My son emigrated to America six years ago, because he married an American girl.

He had to start with an ‘engagement’ visa, then go over to a spousal visa, and Homelabd Security checked out that the marriage was genuine etc. They spoke to friends, family and neighbours.

After months he got right to reside and a green card - however, many American firms prefer their own citizens for jobs, so it’s mot easy. They don’t trust the British Ecucation system much, and he had to go through college there, at his own expense, despite having 3 A levels and various A grade GCSEs.

Trust me, it is not easy to get green cards or citizenship, they don’t just convert tourist visas, obviously. and it will take you years.

There are extensive checks etc., from here and over there, plus a medical, and it takes ages just to get a Green card, to allow you to work.

Citizenship takes years, even, if like him, you are married to an American

He, rightly, I suppose, and despite paying in, has NO right to any public funds, so unless a firm is sponsoring and employing you, it will require you to have full medical insurance, plus money behind you.

I would ring the American Embassy for advice.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

100% not how it works mate. My dad has an american wife, and for 5 years he was back and forth as he could only go out there for 90 days at a time.

He then got a work visa becuase he was a skilled tradesman and was offered a job, and the company arranged the visa.

It was then another 3 YEARS before he could apply for citizenship, which in itself took about 18 months.

Friends of mine have been denied entry to the states to visit loved ones purely because they didnt have a job back home, so were deemed likely to not return. someone rocking up at passport control with millions in pocket and no plan, isnt gonna look like a good idea to them.

take off the rose tinted glasses.
  • Took my friend 10 years all in all to go from Brit to American citizen. He started as a UK employee in a US office and was therefore double taxed (4 years), switched employment terms on a US visa (4 years), applied for citizenship (2 years.)

Wasn't sped up at all by him marrying an American, or having children. Was also slowed down by him having owned and rental property in the UK that complicated taxation status in both countries.

In no way an easy move, and this was way before Trump was voted in.
