If you do not have access to a battery charger, get someone to connect a set of jumper leads to your battery and leave connected for 20 mins, start your car with the leads connected to save pulling your battery down.0 -

Cheers. It was a jump starter kit I got. I'll ask my neighbour
Failing any of them can help me, would the below item from amazon suffice?

Thanks so much for your help0 -
The little LiIon jump-boxes won't do much if your battery is flatter than flat. They'll get you going if it's just a bit too soft to actually start the car.
Modern cars take power from the battery all the time, even when parked - alarm, remote locking, ECU memories etc. Leave them for more than a couple of weeks, you WILL have problems. Lead-acid batteries do not like being fully discharged, either. If the car's been sat for months, especially at this time of year, the battery itself is quite likely knackered. Jump-starting it will get it going, then a good long run will get it fully charged - but if it won't hold that charge...
That charger should do the job - again, if the battery's not knackered. Connect and leave for 48hrs or more. It's only 1A output, and a typical car battery is going to be about 70Ah capacity - so 70 hours at 1A to fully charge.
This might not be as flash - but it's far more powerful, and half the price.

For very occasional use, I'd go for that, and unplug as soon as it says full.
If you're going to be going away for extended periods regularly, and the car's parked near a socket, then the AA one has the advantage that it'll monitor the charge and keep it topped up.
BTW - if your insurance has expired, then DON'T take it for a run! Get that and the tax sorted FIRST...0 -
Sign up for breakdown cover and call them in a few days to say it won't start. Their batteries aren't the cheapest but they'll come to you.0

Ask around neighbours if anyone could lend you a battery charger, connect it and charge overnight and see what improvement that brings.
Alternatively ask if anyone can connect up jump cables and go from there.
You may want to consider a new battery at this stage though, you'll get a decent Bosch battery from Costco.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

It sound like the OP is a complete novice, he will not know to disconnect the negative lead going to the battery.0 -

If so, are you sure that the problem is the battery?
With car batteries once they drop below around 10.5V they're basically knackered. They may appear to work fine if you use your car on a daily basis but one or more of the cells will be toast and usually the first you'll find out is when its been stood for a few days or its been particularly cold overnight. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
