Bully for you! No I didn't, snooker is boring but I could have watched it quite legally, as I have a TV licence.
I also have Amazon Prime and Netflix.
The three together provide a well rounded programme/film selection which I am happy to pay for. You really should try some of the other offerings on Amazon, they do some great stuff.House_Martin wrote: »It was just a stupid move by the leftie Tony Hall ending Clarksons reign in Top Gear
I thought it was because he assaulted a colleague? And I'm sure Clarkson is really upset about not being on the BBC and being paid a hell of a lot more, with the freedom for even greater silliness. :rotfl:0 -

You should not be making a comment on here like that about a well known celebrity.
You can slag off forum members at will, you have previously made "obnoxious " comments about me , but I am unknown and anonymous so there is no libel or slander involved.
Just calm down a little please0 -
I'm perfectly calm, don't know what my electric bike has to do with anything or why it is funny? (been stalking me, going through my posting history, have we :rotfl:)
AFAIA Clarkson has admitted and apologised for the physical and verbal racial assault and agreed an out of court settlement, so don't see anything libellous in what I've written. (Oh and just to clarify, I like Top Gear and The Grand Tour as a bit of frivolous light entertainment.)
Back on the subject of your Amazon trial.
Yes, I agree that what you are doing is legal but feel it is not in the spirit of Amazon's offer.
The free trial is for potential customers to get a feel for the service and help them to decide whether or not it is for them.
Not for someone to manipulate in such a way as to allow them to watch a complete series which isn't available elsewhere, thereby getting desired content for free with no intention of supporting the platform that has spent millions (£4.5m per episode) on producing it.
Hence a loop hole.
Pretty much the same as those you criticise for being legally licence free but who still use legitimate avenues to access BBC content. :T0 -
I think that both being Legally Licence-free and using free trials of streaming media services are legitimate money-saving approaches.
If Amazon et al do not want people to exploit their free trials in this way, then the option is there to give them a little more contractual red tape - for example by having usage restrictions during the free trial period.0 -

Oh I agree.
I just thought it was a bit rich of House Martin to be seeking to exploit such a loop hole when in the past he has vehemently criticised other people for doing similar but with his beloved BBC.0 -
Sure.
No doubt HM will be along shortly to tell us how they are two completely different things and that the principle is not the same at all.
TBH, I'm still not convinced that he accepts the notion of Legally Licence-free, or its definition as being the factual state of not requiring a TV Licence, rather than some spurious claim that an Evader might (or most likely might not) make.0
