SMS Shortcodes Not Supported
Increasingly the banks, NHS, charity donations etc. are using these. Typically, they send a message and ask you to use a 5 digit shortcode to reply.
I have just changed my provider to Asda Mobile only to find they don't support this. You start the reply to the shortcode but it doesn't get sent. I believe that PlusNet is the same.
Asda Mobile is brilliant in all other respects but I need this facility and so must change Provider. Any suggestions , please, for a provider who supports SMS shortcodes on a a PAYG tariff where you only top-up when required (not regularly each month).

EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three.
There may be MVNO's that support them (Giffgaff do I think from memory) but it's considered a value added service which is why MVNO's are generally cheaper.
Edit: I think the carriers have to pay someone to support shortcodes.0 -
Virgin support them as well. Think yourself lucky. Premium charged texts are one of biggest pains in the derriere to deal with and are unlikely without shortcodes0
