Refund from Gala Hotels

I recently booked and then cancelled a hotel though the Gala Hotels website. The booking was fully refundable. I have contacted them several times but still have not received the refund. Can anyone advise me how to recover my money from Gala Hotels? Would it be worth contacting Trading Standards?
Thank you
Stewart

You say recently you booked and cancelled....how recently?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • Booked on 28/10/2017 cancelled on 16/11/2017.

    Yes, absolutely
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

  • Their Ts and Cs state:

"Refund is made in 21 business days to the credit card that was used in the reservation."

Also looks like a non UK company so not sure on their consumer laws.

So yea, refund should be in by either:

    7th December (21 days)
    15th December (21 working days)

They are are Turkish owned and base business. In a nut shell you would have a struggle with upholding any ‘consumer rights’. I hope you get your refund but suggest in the future you are more careful on who you book with.

This is the question the OP needs to answer if they hope to get any help to get the money back.
  • I am in same position, booked through gala hotels unable to get my refund. they say money was passed to globel who are agents. I have not been able to contact them. The money was taken from bank by Gala I feel they should refund me. feel ripped off. good luck
