Anybody else think it's ironic that this thread get to be mentioned in the weekly email and then they make it so we can't "play"?

Looking at alternative comping forums. Just not feeling the love here anymore.

I joined CBD a couple of years ago but never really got on with using it, so stick to MSE.

I don't really know. I suppose MSE is just like an old comfort blanket.
  • I joined CDB not long after it started, but didn't really get on with it for a couple months, but when I finally did, I started using it loads. Although there are lots of things I prefer on MSE (like general chatting, the mag dailies and the puzzles etc.), so I do use both. The good thing about CDB is you can comment on features you'd like or changes and they will actually implement them (maybe in week, months or even years, but eventually!). MSE are, understandably, at the mercy of the forum format as a whole and can't make changes that would be good for compers only. Whereas, CDB have made loads of changes and improvements and I know some people who tried it years ago or last year and didn't like it, but then tried it again recently and prefer it now that there are more features etc. All comp sites seem to have a few mistakes and limitations, so I use different ones for different things, but I'm on MSE and CDB 99% of the time. It's all comes down to personal preference really and of course it takes a while to get used to new things :)
