  • I have sorted through my accounts to close off 2017 in YNAB, and my savings balance at the end of 2017 is £2,326.45.

My big payments will go to savings when I get my student loan payment each term. I am not counting my pension contributions from my job, as I cannot use that money as an emergency fund or house deposit. I am also not going to count any money gifted to me. I know my parents are planning to give me some money when they sell their house to move to a retirement bungalow, but I feel that would be cheating against my £3k target.

My long-term aim is to be able to graduate in 2019 with a positive net worth even taking my student loan into consideration, and to be able to use my savings as a deposit on a place of my own if I want to in around 2020 or 2021.

Hi, can I sign up for £15,000. Kinda depends on if I buy a house this year whether I'll still be able to save sums like that, but either way it'll help boost the deposit.

    Thanks

Yes please I would like to sign up for £20k this time please.

Two years in a row i have smashed my £12k target.

Truth be known it turns out I'm a bit of a coward/scared in increasing my target.
I have achieved more than I had expected in these last two challenges. I hope if I stay focused I will be triumphant once more.

Many Thanks for running this thread!

Wow, that is amazing, I don't even earn that amount in a full time job, but what an inspiration that you can, i wish you good luck in your aim:T:T:T:T
