Condensate Pump not working

We recently had our combi boiler replaced under the government scheme and had an oil condensing boiler fitted. This meant that we had to have a pump fitted to remove the condensate. We had a manufacturers pump fitted inside the boiler (Firebird) and it seems to normally run all the time, possibly because it is a small pump with no storage option for the waste water.
We've noticed tonight that the pump isn't working (due the fact that it is so quiet now). I guess we'll have to call the company who fitted it tomorrow but is this going to be hurting our boiler at the moment, in the short term?
