I thought the Dwp make the decision from her report and she just writes the report . I have read in lots of places on the internet that the assessor doesn’t make the decision ?? The decision maker does based on evidence and her report . Can she put in her report that she thinks I should be in support group as I thought she could only write a report on how she sees my disabilities effecting me ?? As you can see I’m not very clear how this all works .. it just entails stress and worry but like you said at least it’s over with now . Just the last bit of stress waiting for the decision

The assessor writes the report and advices the case manager (decison maker) what they think and that could either be Support Group (LCWRA) WRAG (LCW) or fit for work, which will mean your money will stop.

You ring ESA DWP for a copy of the assessment report. Some will send it before the decision is made but some won't until after a decisions been made. Although i have heard that they can't refuse you a copy even before a decisions been made.

There's no time scales to the decisions as it all depends on the backlog in your area.

The assessor recommends what she thinks the decision should be and the decision maker decides if he agrees or not but most of the time they do.They are trying to get as many people out of support group as they can so sometimes they need to check with their supervisors before they recommend it,I did read that somewhere but I can't remember where.

Just going to spend the weekend trying to chill and ring Monday and ask for a copy of the report

I was in wrag group before my reassessment so if they do award support group it would be a pleasant suprise .

Rang dwp who said they have nothing on computer since September and to ring maximus .

Rang maximum who said they sent the report Friday and no longer have it to ring dwp .

It’s monday morning so may not have caught up an put it on the system yet . Will try again tomorrow

When you ring DWP tomorrow if they tell you the same thing again, try ringing maximus back because your report could have been chosen for audit. This happened to me when i rang DWP after my daughters PIP assessment. I was told they hadn't recieved it, rang Independent Assessment services (formally ATOS) who told me it had been returned the day after the assessment. Again i rang DWP who told me they hadn't recieved it. I rang assessment services back who finally told me it had been chosen for audit. It then took over 5 weeks to be returned.

Files are chosen at complete random and is nothing to worry about. The only thing it does is delay the decison process. It also delays us recieving a copy of the report, because DWP won't sent the report out to us until both copies of it have been returned. Hopefully this isn't what has happened and it's just taking a little while longer to show on the computer. Good luck.

Just got off phone to rep who said they had to access the health care page and see if they could retrieve it that way .

She said she would send it out this morning so I assume I should have it by second class either Thursday or Friday .

She said I may get a telephone call from the decision maker when they make a decision because they like to inform personally ?? I just had a letter last time .

Thanks again and I know I have updated with every detail but it may help someone else going through the process to know the stages I went through . This site and people like you are invaluable to us who are stressed and under experienced in these processes so thankyou to you all agin xx

There's usually only ever 1 post a day now. The days where there used to be 2 are long gone lol.

DWP do indeed use 2nd class always but you may have to wait longer than usual because of the time of year it is. Don't be surprised if it's not sometime next week that you recieve it.

The Decision Maker does sometimes make a call before making a decision, however i've only ever known this for ESA when someone has been found fit for work. They'll ring, ask a question and then tell them the decision. I maybe wrong but not heard of them ringing for good news. They've never rang me for ESA and i've been in the Support Group for over 5 years.

It's very stressful yes, even more so this time of year. With Xmas being so close the decison maybe delayed, that's even worse. You'll have some idea when that report arrives.

My f2f appointment was 11.30 today but they've just rung to cancel it as they're running so far behind already. After my initial panic, I just wanted it over with, the lady offered me 9am tomorrow. So no busy waiting room to deal with and she said they have a quiet corridor that I can wait in. So I now have less to worry about, it's not very often that I see the positive in things at the moment
