Just time to drop in and see how you guys are all doing. Guess I've missed babies being born (JillD) and sounds like Lil-me is moving house. Hope it went/goes well :j

I'm also moving house - hopefully in about 3 weeks or so. We should exchange next week and then complete at the end of the month, so my flying is going to be cramming whatever I can get hold of into boxes and maybe carting them into tjhe garage to be ready for the removal people. Of course, we have half term in the middle of preparing for the move and I've got two hospital appointments in the week before (one in London), so am I going to be stressed about it all? You bet!

I have been disgustingly organised and done a meal plan for the rest of this month and beginning of next, which mainly uses things I've got ready made in teh freezer or involves cooking double batches so that I can freeze half of it for another day.

Anyway, much love and hugs to those who need it.

Hi everyone, i've been so busy this past week (not flying opps). Have managed to finally get tenancy agreement so done 3 copy's. Big problem now is a social worker from the child development team is coming to visit tomorrow to talk about DD and the house is speechless-smiley-040.gifspeechless-smiley-040.gifspeechless-smiley-040.gif , so gonna have to get my a** up early tomorrow and do a very quick clean in every room (don't know where to start.

Hope everyone is well and hugs to those who need it.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

tiamai I think the throwing of the text may have got that across, he wasn't pleasant about it but phoned to say 'get me up early and I will help seeing as I do nowt'. I've only got to the end of my tether because I am absolutely exhausted with it all. Sorting through one box of 'stuff' can take me over an hour because they are so big but I don't just want to keep everything then sort through at the new house, I need to have a clear out so it is taking longer. I can't work on the boys room while they are asleep, just tried and woke DS1 up who has been restless anyway with all the move stuff. Because I am doing it when he's at work or in bed most of the time I don't think he's even realised how much work it has took. Just being appreciated would help rather than being yelled at because I am not doing it fast/good enough....

Right, enough moaning, have done another box of books, another one that bugs me as I have to cart bag fulls downstairs then fill the box as I can't carry the box down once it is full. Need to be able to get up with kids in morning (was late one day last week because so exhausted :o) so I am going to call it a night, get the dogs out in the garden for 5 then bed. Hopefully catch up with you all tomorrow evening.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Evening everyone!

I've spent the day outside, as weather absolutely lovely here in Kent! Two hours weeding on the allotment this morning, and two hours cutting down an overgrown shrub in the garden this afternoon. I'm going to add trellis to the top of the short fence behind the ex shrub, as it is at the end of our garden, and we now have no real privacy from the two neighbouring gardens that run down to it. Just got to check that the neighbour doesn't mind...

This week I should be working two mornings, so I shall probably be doing the rooms in a different order, but I shall keep an eye on the lists. DS2 is back from Germany on Thursday pm - I have missed him! I expect he'll be staying home on Friday, as he'll be so tired. I'm really looking forward to halfterm, as I don't seem to have seen much of the children the last six weeks, although there'll be some juggling to fit in the hospital visits, as I can't take them with me.

Lil_me I think you're right, DP doesn't realise what it is that you've done, because he hasn't seen it! Moving is right up there with all the big stress factors. Take a deep breath, give yourself decent breaks, and eat well!!! I know that you don't want to move with unsorted stuff, but if there is a bit left that you cannot fit into the time, then hang on to the most important thing, that you and your family are moving to a much better house and area, and beside that, the odd thing that you didn't manage to sort is really not that important.

Before I go, Tracy this is how I do it, everyone has their own way

    My way of meal planning
Start with a complete stock list of what you have in
Put a list of main foods for example (for meat/veg eaters)

    Mince
    Stewing steak
    Chicken
    Sausages
    Cod fillet
    Prawns

Anyway, from there work out what you have to go with them

Mince - got passata and pasta so maybe make into meatballs and serve with tomato & herb sauce and pasta
Stewing steak - flour & suet, some veg, some potatoes, so steak stew with veg in, dumplings, serve with mash (freeze any left overs)
Chicken - big roaster so dinner one day with yorkshires, roasties and veg
Left over chicken - curry with rice
Sausages with egg, beans and chips - quick and easy meal for a day I am busy
Cod & prawns made into fish pie served with veg
Left over cod made into fishcakes

Change days to suit what we are doing etc, would need say more spuds, eggs and veg as a shopping list, voila, meal plan is done. I put days next to mine but don't stick to it all the time as things come up etc, plus I get bored. If I had nothing in I would start with the list of main foods, then make meal ideas, then shopping list from that.

Serena thank you, makes sense what you have said, I've done a LOT of clutter clearing so far, I was chucking between 1 and 2 bags a day at the start, I've still been doing usually a bag a day since, it's been the most time consuming, suppose it wouldn't hurt if I need to take some clutter with me to sort through. Stop me from half killing myself in the process. I suppose the main things DP has seen is me saying I'm going back to bed for half an hour or so because I am shattered, I can't do that when he's out.
One day I might be more organised...........
