Just did a huge post and lost it :mad:Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Not updated or ages. All I have done this past month is spend! My ynab is looking awful. I have no emergency fund left and debt has gone up.
Roof and gutters came in at £4300,and this was without the drain being sorted. The roof was in a shocking state wen they lifted tee tiles. They took pictures for me, but I could actually see the lack of felt and rotten batons from the ground  but all done and paid for now.
And then Last week I noticed what I thought was an oil leak from the car. Took it in today and apparently it is a huge petrol leak and have been lucky not to have had a fire as its all in the engine  but its £170 to fix as te tank is fine, told :TDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Told them to do the front brakes as well as they are due in another 1k miles so end of Jan time. Saves time off work.
I also spent a fair bit on sat. WenDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Went to London on Saturday to see Bat out of hell with my dad and sister. I booked tickets for their birthday so I got dad's train ticket and sister paid for lunch. Also got a few Xmas presents while we were there.
The musical was amazing!!! It's closing at the end of December otherwise I would go again, it was that good.
Trying for a bit of a less spendy time over the coming weeks. All big Xmas s got, just some bits to pick up here and there. It appears I have received 1/4 of a new roof or my present lol!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
So, it's all gone a bit wrong. After a fantastic year paying down the loan this past month has just killed me. The debt is back up to nearly 10k, and I feel like I have achieved nothing.
Had huge plans for next year once the debt was clear. All gone.
Feeling a bit sorry for myself. Will be back once I am feeling more positive.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I think it’s easy to be hard on yourself and say the debt has gone up and it feels like all the effort isn’t worth it. The reality is though even if you hadn’t paid a penny off your debts the roof would still have had to be done at some point and so would the car. If you hadn’t made such an impact on getting them down you might have ignored the repairs for “just a little longer” as it would have been difficult to afford and could have ended up with a disaster like a car fire or a bit of the roof collapsing.
Sorry that’s rambling a bit but take a little bit of time to feel sorry for yourself that’s normal then move on and realise that you can still make all the plans for when you are debt free they have just been postponed a little1 -
((Hug)) to you.
You have still done well. It might not feel like it right now, but you have.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

OK, so I need to start posting again, be more accountable.
So here am I? Well the loan is at £8200, with payments at £150. The credit card is at £1800. Frustrating, but it needed to be done.
So this month will see £150 off the loan and £25 off the cc. From Jan a s/o will be set up for £180 to clear the card in 10months. And I will be paying £550 from the loan in total per month. This leaves me with around £450 a month spare to save, spend etc. I think this is more realistic overall.
All Xmas presents are done except one thing for my mum. I have booked the panto for the small two, along with a father Xmas visit, and booked or me and the girl to see Bat out of hell just after Xmas as I loved it so much! Christmas food order complete, just perishable items to pick up closer to the time.
We went to London on Sat and did a great fire of london walk for the smallest as he has been doing it at school. He loved it, especially as he thought pudding Lane would no longer exist as 'it burnt down' :rotfl: we went to John Lewis as wanted to do the quality street thing but the queue was massive and by that point the little two were not coping well, so just bought a normal tin.
I had a shocking week last week, ending in two client complaints. Both my fault to be fair, but just been feeling quite blue about everything. So now I will be picking myself up and getting on with it all. Two weeks to go, then I am taking two weeks off. Can't wait!
I have overspent by £200 on groceries this month. This is awful, and shows what happens when you stop caring. I have kept on top of ynab but I have been wamming like crazy and evrything is bare. Money for food is due next Tuesday, am going to try my best to make it through with minimal spending now.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
So, child benefit and one lot of dla went in. £25 to credit card, this will increase next month to £180. Loan payment this month if £150, from next month the total per month will be £500.
All Xmas presents bought except one for my mum. Did two jobs that paid cash today so did a top up shop. Huge online food shop coming on Tuesday with all the Xmas food bar the fruit and dairy stuff. Ordered a few things from the milk man and they are coming next week but all paid for.
I have someone coming to tile the kitchen on Monday. Need to organise the last wall and clear the sides on Sunday, I have 1k in my home fund, and the quote is £535 plus tiles, so am hoping to put the £535 aside when I get paid this week. I am due over 1k in wages, so should be doable. Once tax credits go in on Friday I will have £400 free for spending over the holidays with the kids. Have a day out in London planned with the girl (going to see Bat out of hell before it closes as I loved it so much when I saw it last month!) need to visit in laws so £60 for a tank of petrol, have booked panto (all paid for so just parking) and booked and paid for santa visit Xmas eve for little two. We normally go for pancakea/waffles on Xmas eve, can be pricey for six of us, around £50.
Norhing else booked in, but I am off work from next Fri until the kids go back. Can't wait! Last week was not good, negative feedback from a client (nothing too bad, but I need to be on the ball) and boss has so many jobs atm it's crazy!
Am going to spend the holidays reading some more diaries on here and unsubscribing from some that don't post anymore.
Anyway off to chase small ones to bed.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
So much for updating more often!
So kitchen is tiled, I just need to do the last bits on sat then it will be finished, only taken three years :rotfl:
Booked to see a friends daughter in a London play on 5th Jan. There was a flash sale so paid £15. Really please as wanted to see her an it finishes on the 6th. Hubby will come London with me but has no interest in seeing te play. But friends of us will be in as they are seeig a musical in the eve so will probably meet up for a drink in the afternoon.
Two days of work left, can't wait. Everyone as had enough, although the smallest has been amazing these past two weeks which is so good. The weird one was not happy about Xmas jumper day today. He was incredibly grumpy, but he always makes me laugh wen he is like this!
Anyway better get on so the work day can end sooner lol!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
