Weeeeeeeee - congrats Kirstypoos - and welcome to the world little guy! Our girl is now 8 MONTHS OLD!!! When did that happen?! I can well remember the tight months on SMP. And now, of course, it's all going on childcare instead so we're no better off really but loving the journey. Sending muchos hugs - take care of yourself, and if you're not loving parenthood 100% of the time that is totally fine (in fact that's more normal) - always here for frank discussion about the highs and lows if it ever helps. :)

Thanks Lottie!! Wow, that has flown - I remember you posting!

Good luck to everyone on this board. It really is achievable. I paid off my debt end of 2016 and have been able to build up savings by using many of the principles learnt on this board. Yes when debt is paid off you can afford to treat yourself from time to time. However, if you live by the principles learnt you realise that you don't have to spend money just because you can.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

  • Hiya all
My monthly check in for totals, I am changing the way I account for my money from April so will hopefully be on far more often. Loving all the good news this last couple of weeks with babies and debt freeness, it really is inspiring to me and the more my debt is reduced the more I can plan and look forward to the times I have savings each month rather than paying out.

  • Needed to complete a new money transfer to move debt to 0% CC as previous had run out and also an unexpected bill so the amount I need to pay off as increased to £5252. I have paid £106 off today and hoping to pay some more early next week.

Bit deflated starting from scratch but need to knuckle down and get this gone.
