Afternoon all!
I am slacking with updating on here - baby takes up much more time than I realised, weird as he sleeps most of the day!

As per the savings thread, had a very good month with overtime this month and have managed to put another grand into my ISA. Plan remains to just trickle the credit cards down over this year to get them sorted by xmas - on 0% so it makes no difference to me when they are sorted out, and now the money I have saved far exceeds what I owe which means the debt could be gone tomorrow if needs be.
Only one more planned debt to clear in May which is the motorbike insurance and then there is nothing to worry about until October. There is finally more than a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel!
#129 reporting with another £175 taking me to £350 total or 21.51% paid off.0 -

Hi Everyone
I've not been keeping up or posting on this thread very well at all but I have been plodding away on the debt reduction.
I have now paid off £3208.77
I'm going to try and get back to reading the thread to remind myself I'm not alone in this debt reduction thingy, but will probably just update monthly once everything is in.0 -

I AM / WE ARE DEBT FREEEEEEE!!!!
I can't begin to tell you all how amazing I feel. Mine and DH started on just 8th Jan 2018. The last time we used debt was over 2 years ago, we had shifted it all to interest free but we just paid off the minimums. I am thankful that we hadn't been in the habit of using debts.
We now also have some money in an emergency fund and our next goal is to get 3 months living costs in savings. Thank you so much to everyone on here for your encouragement and I wish you all the best on your DFW journeys xxx:j:T:rotfl:doingitanyway wrote: »Payment mad and now debt free. I've been AWOL for a week or so thanks to the arrival on baby Kirtsypoos so I'm sneaking back in with a quick mortgage OP, I had said I wouldn't be making OPs now baby has arrived and I'm on SMP but I can't help it
Weeeeeeeee - congrats Kirstypoos - and welcome to the world little guy! Our girl is now 8 MONTHS OLD!!! When did that happen?! I can well remember the tight months on SMP. And now, of course, it's all going on childcare instead so we're no better off really but loving the journey. Sending muchos hugs - take care of yourself, and if you're not loving parenthood 100% of the time that is totally fine (in fact that's more normal) - always here for frank discussion about the highs and lows if it ever helps.
As to the debt-busting. Threw another £200 at the CC, hoping to clear it soon although we're already getting the summer wedding invites and Stag/Hen Do costings coming into play!

Loving parenthood 100% of the time is abnormal I think... anyone who says that is a liar! LOL. I could have easily put my eldest in the bin this morning - he's 3! :rotfl:
