Morning everyone!
Anyone had one of those years where you sit down, research, think, ponder, fiddle and come up with a fabulous plan of action. Then two months into it, wake up to realise the year wasn't quite working out to plan? So I did the only thing possible - stuck my head in the sand and hoped it would all go away! Yep well it didn't. Still thank you standing orders - they at least worked right.
Now things appear to be smoothing out and I had a peak at what had happened whilst I wandered around in denial. Great news - I've managed to clear two balances before the 0% period ended - so no interest there. And am whittling down the others.
#023 Feb- Apr repayments of £1,942.19 bringing total to £3,187.35 / £7,000
Catching up on everything going on here and seeing how everyone is doing really re-focuses me and makes me realise what I can achieve if I just keep pushing. So thank you!
Take care and have a great long weekend.

Hello everyone!! How are we enjoying the mugginess/rain?
I am in an amazing mood because I've cleared all the debts I owe to my parents, and in conjunction with my dad's 60th too! :j
I don't have the best relationship with my folks (weddings and becoming grandparents can do that apparently) so using my car sale to settle this personal debt feels like a huge weight lifted. I know it's only a dent in the overall total, but some debts carry more weight emotionally than others, and this was definitely one.

I sense a few people are emerging at the moment having been absent, or struggled a bit recently. I really hope these messages help and keep you going if you need it. This thread, and even envisaging writing a post like this, helps me press that send/payment button when I need the steel to do it. Thanks everyone - keep fighting the good fight. Remember it's still only Spring - we've got 3 more seasons to go in our debt-busting so keep persevering! (and if you're remotely inclined - treat yourself to a new shampoo when you pay something off - like I just did!)

Morning...just wanted to slink back on to this thread and say oops...didn't hit my savings target for last year's holiday and so just over £3k went on to credit cards!
Anyway I've been steadily paying just over the minimum each month and have paid a little extra chunk off the smallest one yesterday (I want to get that one cleared and start snowballing the bigger card) and I thought to myself....come on girl you've done this before...I challenge you to get it cleared by Christmas.
So here I am asking for a number and hoping that this accountability will help me with my goal of clearing whats left by the end of the year!
I've currently got my balance down to £1930 and I start my new job in September so it won't be long until I will be earning again (currently living off my student maintenance loan although I've budgeted well with it so this last bit will keep me going until my first pay day in September, along with DHs income).
My home budgeting isn't going well everything goes on the Amex (for air miles) and I have been so busy at Uni/on placement that I just don't have time to keep on top of everything...which means that I've probably wasted a lot of money that I could be using to clear the cards or on other things! Hopefully by having this challenge it will motivate me to keep on top of the finances! :ASaving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0
