We take some of ours on holiday to an apartment where we stay, there's never enough coat hangers there, so we leave what we take behind.
ETA these are ones supplied by the dry cleaners. We never have ones from the clothes shops anymore as we have more than enough.Make £2025 in 2025

Have stopped buying clothes - have way too many, most at least ten years old - so no longer have this problem
Edited to add - recalled that I bought one item of clothing this year (new Levi jeans from TK M). These were on a metal hanger that I wasn't offered the option of keeping.......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0 -
Give your plastic ones to those charity shops who insist on using their own metal hangers that assault my ears and put my teeth screeeeeeechinly on edge if I attempt to move clothes along the rail!0

It just isn't a problem. The shop assistant always says 'Do you want the hanger? and I always say 'No'. Problem solved. A poll for this is plain silly.0

Our local authority takes them from the recycling bin.0

I'm really amused that mine is the 17th comment, but only two folks have voted!
Maybe we should have a poll about pointless polls? :rotfl:0 -

None of the charity shops in my area will take them.
In fact they get a bit uppity if you even suggest the dreaded 'coat hanger' words.
HTH
Same here.0 -
I find shops are much less willing to supply hangers with clothes these days and I usually have to ask for them.
Another one who would like a "leave things alone" option in the poll here.0 -
If you buy enough clothes for this to be a problem then the problem is you’re buying too many clothes.0
