How many have you thrown away?

It seems you can't recycle them so should they be

Or

Pay a tax like carrier bags

    Leave them with the shop who can recycle them? Or at least reuse?

    You don't have to take the coat hangers if you don't need them. In fact they seem to give them out much less freely these days and some stores ask if you want them. Just say no.

  • I use them to hang clothes. Radical thought, I know.

    A lot of shops will actually take them back.
    Haven't tried it for a while but if you take the TU hangers back to sainsburys they will reuse them
    Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

    I find they are useful for unblocking the toilet!

    Yes, it’s not exactly top of my list of modern woes. The comparison with supermarket bags doesn’t really stand up.

    None of the charity shops in my area will take them.
    In fact they get a bit uppity if you even suggest the dreaded 'coat hanger' words.
