Well, the fact that one of your duplicate threads on the subject has been closed (and the other garnered no responses) indicates to me at least that it would have been more appropriate to post your information here..I can post where I like, thanks.
I was responding to someone who posted today, not last month.
Anyway, no harm done..0 -
How very magnanimous of you.0

A few years ago now, in the days of XP, I was infected with a virus which affected every executable file on my hard drive. I only noticed it since compared the size of windows media player executable with a backup I had, it was kB larger as were other files I looked at. I sent an infected file to every online protection company that had an upload feature and tried all the scans and cleaners but none worked. The only one that came back to me was Kaspersky who confirmed I had a brand new version of an existing virus with a new signature that was not picked up yet. Within a day they told me a fix was on their website, and sure enough it cleaned up all the executables on my drive. I had all my installation programs backed up anyway, but it allowed me to carry on with the C drive without having to do a complete format and time consuming re-installation of everything (since then I regularly mirror all my partitions!). I've had a soft spot for Kaspersky ever since. Being in Russia I guess they have a lot of cyber crime experience that perhaps others don't!! As far as I know there is no evidence they have done anything wrong, just the suspicion since Russian authorities are involved in fake news and instability attempts they might be best avoided. Still a shame.0

Only time will tell whether this action by Barclays was justified. Kaspersky has typically come out at or near the top as one of the best antivirus programs for as long as I can remember. Would I trust the Russians, I have no reason not to, would I trust the Americans, definitely not. Would I use Norton or McAfee? very definitely not and both are a real pain to uninstal. If Barclays later decides to provide either of those as a freebe then my suspicions will be confirmed, thsi is purely about American big business making money.0

You shouldn't be getting compensation - it's a product that stated in the T's and C's that it can be withdrawn at any time without notice or reason.
Hate this compo culture we seem to be living in0 -
I got compensation a few months ago after complaining to Barclays.
Very good product. Best anti-virus product around IMHO. Saved my PC a few times.
Now to watch the Rugby. Shame it is on ITV.0 -
AVAST is always free0

My Barclays Kaspersky is still working. Last for another 4 months.
Excellent product.
I will see what free products are available when Kaspersky expires. With luck, Barclays will be promoting it again soon.0
