Hi everyone.
I am really loving these posts, so motivating. I have really loved MSE forums for ideas on saving more for our deposit and house advice etc. It's a really great community.
I am looking forward to joining the MFW 2019. So happy for everyone that is trying, succeeding, helping!
I am right at the beginning of my journey, we bought a 2 bed maisonette in June 2018. £216.5k mortgage!!! It can be pricey down south! We have already started OP'ing so are now at £214k outstanding after 4 1/2 months.
We are aiming to OP as much as possible in the next 5 years so we can upgrade to a longer term (potentially forever, who knows) house (around our 30th's). But best laid plans and all that.... hoping to keep on track here.
Looking forward to posting here a bit more often

#46 reporting an October OP of £1,500.28
I've decided to start a diary now as I'm due to remortgage between now and end Jan.
Ideally this will be a 5 year fix and I would like to see the back of it in this time. It will be a HUGE challenge as the mortgage is £192k  BUT, if you don't try etc etc.
So I started yesterday - would be lovely to have some of you along for the ride.
Have a ,ovely Sunday everyone!

Hi. I haven't been here for a few years but may I drop back in and receive a challenger number? We've been doing some work on the house and solidly saving/OPing.
I would like to be MF in a year. Currently £21k to go, as we have made October OPs of £10,400 (using savings from more than just October - we don't have £10k extra monthly income - I wish we did)
We are having some major work done this autumn/winter so I am not sure how much more I can OP. I am going to set myself a target of £8k. Once we have paid for the works there might be a little bit left over that can be OPd and I will try and use a high target as motivation to avoid costalot coffees and minimise my grocery spends etc. I think I might be around £4-5k max but the target will help.Debt at highest: £8k. #4 reporting £69.42 OP for October
On target to have OP'd by the amount of interest charged for the year, meaning that every penny of my regular monthly payments has come off the capital balance :T :T

What a great idea jackieblack to cover your interest amounts with the OP! Might pinch this idea for my target next year! Many thanks!
