You could try the HSBC basic account-
https://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/current-accounts/basic-bank-account
From their website you have to print off the application form and post it back rather than applying online as I guess the Falklands are classed as outside the UK.
From HSBC- 'Are you an EU resident living outside the UK?
Please print and complete the application form and send it back to HSBC Bank plc, PO BOX 1888, Coventry, CV3 2BR, United Kingdom.'0 -

Hello to all,
I found out from a friend about the debit card that Monese offers and I wanted one because the banks in the UK make it hard for foreners to open up a bank account with them.
I just wanted to share my personal experience about the Monese debit card.
When a newcommer wants to get a bank account with a UK bank, they require a proof of address letter and other docs, in the beginning that is very difficult for some people
/newcomers/ but Monese only wants you to take a pic of your ID card and Passport to send you a debit card by post to you, and I got mine for 3 days after I registerd and give my info. They do require a one time fee of £ 5, but if
you use this code
/P9C2JFGH/ when you register in the smartphone app
you will get the card basicaly for free.
The Monese app has
to be instald in your smart phone.
everything else you need to know about the card is best described in the Monese app, hope this was helpfull for you guys and girls.

The Falklands are indeed outside the UK but are also outside the EU by some distance, so claiming residence in the EU while living there wouldn't be appropriate....
Not true: The Falkland Islands being a British Overseas Territory currently has Special Member Status within the E.U.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_member_state_territories_and_the_European_Union
They are not outside the U.K. either and are seen to be part of the British mainland. i.e. an attack on a British Overseas Territory is an attack on the British mainland.0 -

Yes, it has Special Member Status, but it is not in the European Union. It is one of the 22 Overseas Countries and Territories, which do not have member status.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_member_state_territories_and_the_European_Union Try reading it fully this time! In fact, just reading to the end of the first paragraph will do!

Also incorrect. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (to give the country it's full title) comprises England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It does not include any British Overseas Territories. The overseas territories are exactly that: overseas territories, but they are not part of the United Kingdom.

If you are going to start telling other people that they are wrong about something, it helps if you've actually checked that you are right. You aren't.0
