    Am I right your golden rule was 'Do not attempt to switch supplier with your current metering.'?

    If so, the golden rule wouldn't have helped in my case. I wasn't attempting to switch supplier, I'd just agreed to having a smart meter installed. No mention was made of any other change applying as a result.
