Closing Vodafone Account

Hi,

My Vodafone contract ends on the 30th of this month, I haven't given 30 days notice however I am in possession of my PAC code.

My plan is to use my PAC code to transfer my number onto a sim only deal with Plusnet. If I do this within the next couple of days would this mean I wouldn't be liable to pay another months' line rental to Vodafone? (I'm fully paid up with no out of contract charges).

Many thanks,
RadHead

No, you still need to give 30 days notice.

I would watch the account closure process very carefully.

I left a few days before the next bill and was still charged. Then because I didn't have any other Vodafone products they kept the credit and didn't refund it until I called to ask why they hadn't sent a final bill.

Now three months on I see that the account still hasn't been marked as closed so I've had to get in contact with them again.
  • Whatever you do, don't cancel the direct debit until you have confirmation of a final bill; that would be the worst thing you could do, especially with Vodafone.

Give Plusnet the PAC about a week before expiry.
You'll only loose a few day's service then.

Hi, I have been incorrectly billed (yet again) so gave the customer services person notice that I will leave. Should I have received an email confirmation? Is it possible to get a PAC code and transfer my number to another provider before the 30 days or þbefore the end date of my contract but pay vodafone up to to the required date? After 15 years I've had enough!

I moved from Vodafone Monthly contract to a Virgin SIM only deal on Black Friday.

From what the Carphone Warehouse guy told me I think the Vodafone notice only starts when the Pac code is actually used, not generated etc?!

The keeping of my number did go through smoothly but seeing as I'm no longer with Vodafone I can't log in to the phone app to see my bill status!!

So I guess it's a case of checking my online banking regularly before actually cancelling the direct debit as I've heard lots of horror stories about the account not actually being closed!! And still billed!!

Are you out of your minimum term? Because billing errors aren't a contact break, and they'll charge you an early termination fee if you're not!

That's one of the problems I have. I took out a 12month contract on 6th Dec 16 but on myvodafone page it says agreement end date 13th Jan 18. Customer services weren't any help just puzzled by it! So I feel I have to stick with them until January as I can't face the fight with them if they charge me a termination fee. I suspect the date came about because at the end of my contract last year they made an error in billing so they offered me a refund of the overcharges and a month free rental ( its a sim only contract) to remain with them. Big mistake!
    Grateful for any advice.
