Our friends in BT

Options
After receiving the black Friday promotions and endless post from BT to upgrade I have spent an in interesting but unrecoverable 2 hours trying to communicate with BT today.
First call to someone in "retention".
Referred to "Livechat"
Referred to "Retention" call back, passed through two different agents
The answer i got was.......wait for it........
£6 off my monthly bill.
Yes thats it, £6.
They were quite rude, actually saying "You've now been told three times by three different people that this is the best offer" and "If you go elsewhere then you'll only get what you pay for".
Now, this is the interesting bit.
What has really peeved me is that the offer I was after was offered after logging in to MyBt. They offer me, (autoloading my details) a deal at £39.99, I follow through to confirm and at this point the deal changes to over £56.
This was my beef with them, they were making the offer inside my BT account so they know its me and they never say its only for "New Customers". (the reason they then say I cant take it)
I think this is bordering on some form of deception.
Anyway, that's it, I'm off, they've lost me after 25 years of taking their premium services, I'm just fed up and sick of their approach. I've had poor service through Openreach so I may as well take poor service through Openreach for a third of the cost somewhere else.
It just seems crazy to me.....
Goodbye cruel BT World.

Funny enough just done the same thing but get around £14 cheaper p/m 12 month contract.
If i was to join up as a new punter i would still be around £14 cheaper than present but have caller display thrown in £1.75 p/m, Free Home Hub and a BT £125 reward card.

Tried both ways to renew and resorts back to offer without the additions you get as a new signee.
  • Hi All, Can someone help me on this BT broad band deal I signed up for BT fibre option using the money saving expert link per below and the link included directed me to fibre at BT. I chose an activation date of the end of September but now seem to have been switched the normal broadband and not infinity for the same price. Customer services say they cannot help as they have no control of the money saving expert offers but I feel hard done by here. To top it all I have £50 reward instead of £150!

    Thanks

    Barry

            • Choose to pay line rent upfront if you can afford to. It's cheapest to pay £208.80 upfront for the 12mths (you must opt for this at sign-up) or it's the usual £18.99/mth. Either way, you get inclusive weekend landline calls, see BT call costs.
            • Discounted fibre, £9/mth for the year. A huge discount on the standard £31/mth.
            • £9.99 set-up, usually £59.99. Again, a big discount on standard costs.
            • Get £150 on a prepaid Mastercard that Annoyingly, as BT won't remind you, diarise to use this Mastercard claim link within three months of activation (takes up to 45 days after).
