Hi
I would like to continue watching all the free to air sky channels on a freesat box. I want to get a freeat box as it's easier with channel surfing (dont need to skip past unavailable sky channels). I also watch the international channels, so need a freesat box that have the ability to add those other international channels.
I would like the box to be responsive and speedy, I've had bad experience with these hdmi multimedia boxes which were so slow and frustrating to use.
Also, I'm thinking of getting IPTV channels installed so would like a box with IPTV functionality. As well as other smart tv features. The smart tv feature on my TV set is rubbish (slow, laggy etc)
Alsowould like the freesat box to allow me to edit the channels that appear, I would like full access to add/remove the 200 base channels as well as the optional channels you manually add. I'd like to get rid of the adult, shopping and religious channels from the list.
Same with IPTV, all the IPTV lists seem to come with adult channels by default.

There are only two current Freesat boxes (five if you include different colour or HDD sizes):

None will do all you want, a Linux satellite receiver would but requires quite a bit of setting up.0 -
I'm technically savvy enough to set up a custom box like a linux, but it really is a minefield with so many variations.
The zegema star 2s seems to be rated quite well for the money. I will join an av forum and ask as there may be more experts on linuxboxes there.0
