small print - its actually large print on their document - but formatting gets changed on pasting to this site

Its the Paymentshield Policy ( now also underwritten by St Andrews - who are part of HBoS -aka Halifax Bank of Scotland , previously underwritten by Hamiliton- part of HSBC) is the policy you are quoting a mortgage or a credit card plan ?

I believe their range of policies ( albeit not always branded the same name) have the highest market share from intermediaries , and is even rebranded by some lenders ( no doubt at a higher profit margin)
Terms may change depending on actual policy - but the one I quoted is in their standard range, and given its wide spread exposure , thought a good example to use ( although I accept others may not be as "good" )

Gawd! The St. Andrews policy I found was linked to Goldfish Credit Card. maybe the mortgage wordings are better?

Are you sure it's the same St. Andrews? Goldfish is LloydsTSB so surely they wouldnt be promoting HBOS products? ........

PS Hamilton were linked to HFC Bank not HSBC last time I saw anything relevant to it. Did HSBC buy HFC?

Looking the paperwork up - its the same St Andrews Insurance plc ( and I know they are part of HBos) would not say its that obscure given the BoS name??

    YES
In March 2003 both Household International Inc. and HFC Bank plc became part of the HSBC Group ( and hence Hamiliton came under the HSBC group)

Due to a very unkind refusal to my claim by a wide country assurance policy if you get my drift I am looking to change to a more FRIENDLY and fare company any suggestions?

If currently not working you won't get a new policy yet
