I would give Bon Marche a try. They look abit old fashioned from the outside but they seem to be trying to change their image. They have a new range designed by David Emanuel(?) and lots of thier clothes are very Per Una without the price tag. You have to have a good look because some things are very grannyfied. They are very reasonably priced.0

I went in Zara for the first time today- always avoided them in the past as assumed they were pricey. However I got a really nice pair of skinny fit jeans in there for only £19- I was pleasantly surprised.0

I have the 'assets' problem too - and detest polyestery cheap clothes and things that bobble and shrink. My top source of basics is Gap (only in the sale but they have frequent drastic sales). I have to try on quite a lot to find styles that work for me but the quality of the knitwear, T-shirts and trousers is head and shoulders above anything else in the price range. Cambridge is especially good for bargains.0

A friend of mine always looks beautifully dressed and I assumed she got her work clothes from Next. No - she gets them from Peacocks.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I've bought t-shirts from Pilot and where I cook and wash up they have holes in the front where it rubs on the worksurface and now they have to be binned, what a waste of money. I have tried car boot sales and can't really find anything cheap so I know I have to resort to the shops. I am looking on eBay but so many things to choose from. But, what to wear??
Thanks.Booo!!!0 -
my wife swears by asda and primark. matalan too sometimes.
M&S when the sale is on. too expensive at other times.
she says the asda george bras are better than MS these days!
MS at warrington (next to ikea) is very good for last of lines. so therefore cheap.Get some gorm.0 -

I agree about Bon Marche! I always gave them a wide berth thinking they were for 90 year olds but have been pleasantly surprised. Their sales are just fab and I got myself a complete set of new work outfits for under £60.My second favorite household chore is ironing. Op, why not look for Next clothes on Ebay? Especially current stock. Also, if you already know the brand then you'll know the fit and which size to get.Illegitimi non carborundum.0
