Hi everyone,
It's been a while and I look forward to posting more regularly again. I've missed your lovely comments and encouragement. And I wish you all the best in your debt free journeys.
I have paid off Credit Card 2!
I aim to pay off the Debit Card by December 2018 and Credit Card 1 by August 2019.
My sister moved into her new place yesterday. I'm happy for her. Now that it's happened I feel less stressed, I'm not anticipating it anymore. And I can just focus on sorting out my finances, clearing this debt and saving money.
I've been thinking about personal finance a lot lately, I'd like to talk to people who know more about it than I do so I can learn more and make future plans. I'm using this time to make a big shift in how I manage my finances. I recieved a WhatsApp message from one of my cousin's friends yesterday, Angela, I met her at my cousin's house warming weeks ago and we got talking about many things including personal finance. It was a great conversation. We'll have drinks soon. She's forming a personal finance education group for women.
I'm taking Monday off so I think I'll clear up my home as I'm working from home today and will be away at a family event this weekend. I've purchased some plants and two second hand chairs to complete the set of dining chairs I have. They need to be mended and reupholstered, so I have materials coming.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

I called the Samaritans today. I haven't spoken to anyone about anything I'm feeling in weeks. I cried, it felt good because it was a release. I haven't really had one, no regular creative outlets, I haven't been writing down my emotions or journalling, I haven't been taking regular walks, haven't been to the gym in weeks.
I've done random creative things like taking photos at family events but nothing regular.
Self Care is the main theme for this thread and I need to do more of that, so I can share more positive things with you all.
Apart from Self Care, I'd like to make some short films. I can't spend any money on them but I do have a camera, so I'm looking into how to do it for free. Wish me luck.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Hey everyone,
Self Care
Spending time with positive people & CPD
I called a friend, Remi, earlier this week. I haven't seen him in months and it was good to catch up. He's working on his businesses, he'll be opening a restaurant this year and he's very positive, kind and helpful. He's dealing with a lot of challenges, opening a business isn't easy but he's doing it and I was pleased to hear about his progress. I think asking for and accepting help is something that is challenging for me to do, it so much easier for me to be giving. And he is someone who always asks how he can help. I think that being giving is a special quality and I think it is a great thing for me to learn how to accept help too.
I also went to a Project Management training course at the Uni, I've done several since I started as my Line Manager(s) have been happy for me to attend any relevant courses. I had a long chat with the trainer, Issac, we arranged to meet a few months ago as he taught some other workshops I attended, included a workshop in the UAE, while I was working in that office. It is so cool that he took the time to talk with me. The conversation was very helpful and encouraging. He's worked as a Project Manager as an employee and on a self-employed basis for over 20 years, he focusses on consultancy work these days. Glad that I had that conversation.
Taking it easy and decorating
I was on annual leave on Monday, offsick on Tuesday and I was at a training workshop on Thursday so I am working late tonight to get back up to speed with work. And taking it easy this weekend.
I was supposed to meet with Angela tonight and my friend Tiwa tomorrow but I cancelled both. I'm exhausted, still having trouble sleeping and I want to clean and put some photos and images on the walls this weekend, to make my home cosier. I'll catch up with my friends next weekend. I do not take anyone for granted I just need to take things easy.
Like minded creative people
I've booked tickets for two events for creative people next week and I'd like to spend more time with other supportive creative people. And these events will be a great opportunity to do so.
Creativity for free: Filmmaking & Youtube
I also want to learn more about making short films, I have found an excellent Youtube channel run by an indie filmmaker so I can start doing some exercises this week with my camera, for free.
New signature l will update my signature once a month moving forward, it is a lot easier and makes more sense and It will be easier for me to track my progress.

I'm on baby step 2, working on paying off my Debit Card this year, by December 2018. Then I'll work on paying off Credit Card 2 by August 2019.
Walking
I walked for almost an hour last night, from the training workshop towards home. It felt great, I think I will leave a pair of heels at work and wear trainers to and from work so I can walk a lot more, especially during the summer. The weather has been lovely, long may it last.
Other Things
I know there are other things I need to do, drink more water, walk regularly, Aromatherapy, swim and socialise more. In time I will.
As always, thanks for following my journey lovely people. I wish you all well with you DFW journeys.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

£13.75 I've spent the whole day cleaning and putting up photos. Decided to treat myself and order food in as I don't really have any shopping in at the moment, I'll go food shopping tomorrow. Hope you're all enjoying the sun.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Second nomination...
I recieved an email from the temp agency I work for informing me that I had been nominated as temp of the quarter again. I didn't win but it was a sweet surprise. My Manager took time to right a lengthy and lovely recommendation. The office can be quiet and lonely as the team doesn't have great moral and we're split across different offices but she's been a joy to work with.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Hello! Been following your diary, and couldn't help notice in your last few posts that a lot of your friends' names are Nigerian, and I'm a fellow Nigerian here too hehe.
Just wanted to say hey, and well done on your journey. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hi everyone,
It's been an eventful and tough time. I was burnout by my last job and left before Christmas.
I had an interview scheduled for today and I didn't go, got to the area, couldn't find the place, Google Maps kept stalling and crashing. I realised that I wouldn't get the role and I just gave up.
I'm going through a lot right now, when I have a chance I'll update you all properly. Thanks so much for your support last year. I had and still have noone to speak to about the debt, your encouragment was so valuable to me.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0
