I like you live on my own, it is lonely, but having a young family move in would be a huge change!!!! Think carefully!
To me id be weighing it up as money or my sanity as I struggle having kids around me.
Thanks Money. Yes two debts are paid off. I can now focus on the remaining debt.
You make a good point about sharing with a young family, my cousin and sister both said something similar.
I've decided to live alone for the immediate future. Things could change. I could find a friend who could move in or I could get a higher paying job.
As I pay off the debts, I won't have minimum payments to take care of and that'll be additional money that I can use to pay off debt and eventually to save. My monthly minimum payments are about £238 per month at the moment. That's money that I look forward to being able to save.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Hey everyone,
Firstly, thanks for following my journey so far. I'm surprised that over 7K people have read this. Thanks again to everyone who has contributed positive comments (it means a lot to me) and to the lurkers too.
To be honest I've been feeling down about my situation. My LBM wasn't just financial, it affected other areas of my life, and came with a lot of self-reflection as well as regret. It made me question different areas of my life and I feel bad about choices I've made e.g. Career, friendships, my future plans. I've been trying to remind myself that I can make different choices now and learn from the past.
I've been asked what I want several times and I always feel stumped, unable to really answer. I think that's because fear affects what I think I can have/do. Even though I know that I'm capable of doing and having more good things in my life. My confidence has been affected.
I think it is time for me to support myself in the same way that I have supported others. I also need to put energy into things other than the debt - my wellbeing and something creative.

Leaving lunch £5.25 I finished my previous role and will be starting my new role later this week. I had a leaving lunch with some colleagues on Friday, burritos. I have decided to take two days off prior to starting the new role.
They also had a small leaving gathering for me on my last day which was a nice surprise, I did not expect anything. A colleague bought me a small gift, my (now former) Line Manager baked a chocolate cake (which was very kind and unexpected) and it was nice. The Line Manager asked me if I was celebrating my new role and to be honest I hadn't even thought about it. I've felt like such a loser lately - had to be honest with you all.
I really wish you all well with your debt-free journeys and hope that you're able to draw something positive from this thread.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Hi everyone,
This week I paid my Accountancy bill of £780 for the year and as I took two days off and bank holidays are coming up I could only afford to pay £100 towards Credit Card 2, I would like to clear the bill by the end of March.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Hey everyone,
I started my the role this week and it's going well. The role itself is fine, I just want to sleep properly again.
It's been a rough week, I've been feeling low and haven't talked to anyone about it. I just keep on thinking so negatively. I feel like such a loser. Part of me wishes I could tell a friend what I'm thinking/feeling about the debt and everything else but money's such a taboo topic and I just don't know who I can speak to about everything else that's on my mind.
I haven't been swimming again even though I know that exercise would help me. I also want to be around people again. In an effort to save money I haven't really gone anywhere. I tried to go to a writing class at my local library but it wasn't on at the usual time so I couldn't go.
I want to be honest here rather than pretending that everything is OK. Hopefully I can make some changes and feel better.
Wishing you all you DFWs the best.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0

Sorry you are feeling low.
You are doing well, just having a tough week. I'm also having a rubbish week.
I think you should call The Samaritans and chew their ears off unloading all your difficult emotions.
Force yourself to swim. I am going to do an exercise class tomorrow. Don't want to go but I will.
Take careIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks, I really commend you for arranging that exercise class tomorrow. I'm sure it'll do you lots of good.
I would like to speak to someone - thanks for encouraging me to make a call.
I cooked a healthy meal today which has helped me to feel better. I'll cook more tomorrow so that I have enough food to take lunch to work for a few days.Credit Card 1 £6,000/£5,322.56 Debit Card £5,000/£2975.3 Credit Card 2 £1200/0 Tax Bill £750/£0 Library Fine £90/£0 Accountancy Bill £720/£0 Cancelled Art Project Donation £15/£0
