I read the google thread before this one - I would suggest that you post on the spywareinfo website as the people on there analyse these logs all the time.Torgwen.....................

If you haven't go anyivirus software you are at very high risk, unless you NEVER access the internet on that PC (which you obviously do!).
I hope you don't enter your credit card/debit card details on your PC EVER or that you don't access online banking!!!!
This is what IB.EXE is:
Backdoor.IRC.Lampsy is a Backdoor Trojan Horse that uses mIRC to communicate with a remote attacker. It allows the Trojan's creator to fully control a compromised system.
irc.lampsy trojan is likely a Trojan and as such, presents a serious vulnerability which should be fixed immediately! Delaying the removal of ib.exe may cause serious harm to your system and will likely cause a number of problems, loss of data, loss of control or leaking private information.

ie this particular Trojan could send all of your keystrokes to a thief!
I SUGGEST YOU DOWNLOAD AND RUN AVG IMMEDIATELY!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I still cannot open my word attachments....Ok I have removed IBE.exe
I ran all sorts of antivirus avaliable, since I live in hospital accomodation these days, I am protected by their firewall, so it should be ok to key in credit card details? I shop online regularly. Fortunatley I never bankonline on my laptop, I do it only at home and I have an antivirus on that PC.
Anti virus, seem to be such a hassle, it asks for updating and it seems to slow when I logon to my computer. Well, I will run the AVG
Thankyou iainkirkmeher0 -
What about ad aware SE? Is it any good? I am desperately trying to downlod as many programme now that I am on annual leave and at home, once I return to workplace then I cannot download anything because of their firewall. That is one another reason I havent put any anit virus, at work I am provided one free but no point, it doesnt update, perhaps I am not doing it right, I always seem to get all sorts of messages on my screen, so thought better off without an antivirus.
I have removed some of the software too from my laptop so that I can download and run programme and clear everything before this weekend.
I need to register onto the site you have suggested before I post my hotmail attachment problem.
Thanks Fran, let me try Ewido, at the moment I am downloading ad aware for a scan.meher0 -

Yes you do have to register but it's only a matter of receiving a confirmation email with a link back to the site to confirm registration.
All those messages you keep getting on your screen might be because of virus, trojan etc. and by removing them you might get less messages and your computer might run better.Torgwen.....................

Fran, I have downloaded and scanned with Ewido...is that it? Like in Ad ware, you have to tick box and 'quarentine' (whatever that means) but Ewido cleans automatically? That is cool.
Well, yet to give another try over hotmail attachment download. Somehow I get the feeling that this is not a virus issue, it seems like it might be that some vital dll or some sort of active x file is missing...I am just about to register after completeing some housework and let me see if that board could give some suggestions
Thanks again.meher0
