Check the reviews for Auto Reisen.

If you are hiring from the airport do a comparison with https://www.carrentals.co.uk if going direct with Avis Budget Hertz Sixt or National and the rates are competitive just go direct.

AutoReisen are very good, no nonsense over fuel, insurance excess cover, etc.

I've never had trouble with Auto Reisen. Book now, but also check again three or four weeks before you go - their prices can drop nearer the time, and they don't charge anything to cancel and rebook at the lower price.

Whoever you book with, book direct.

Cabrera Medina are excellent. Great choice of cars and customer service is very good. Plus you can manage your booking online. Book online, pay on pickup either at the airport, resort office or at your accommodation,.

Avoid Goldcar and Orlando, and you're better staying clear of the multi nationals.

As for Goldcar, I was aware of the awful reviews for this company - on a recent trip to Portugal (via Ryanair) I booked car rental thru the airline not realising I may end up with Goldcar, indeed the quote from Ryanair had selected a hire company which was not Goldcar.

When I actually received confirmation the booking was thru Goldcar - I already have a stand alone car hire excess waiver insurance so had a little peace of mind with that.

The Goldcar experience was 100% brilliant, virtually brand new car (just400 kms from new) and no probs whatsoever when returning the vehicle. Maybe I just got lucky

We have used Autoreisen many times - 2 drivers included, full insurance, they don't even bother to check the car with you and no quibbles on return - had very bad experinces with other companies in Tenerife but don't be tempted by cheap price as there are often a lot of add ons.
