Boiler Insurance

I came home from work after British Gas had been round to service my water heater and found that they had condemned it on the grounds that it was too close to the central heating boiler. When I pointed out that it was British Gas who installed it, and that the boiler was already there at the time, they decided it wasn't dangerous after all.0

£28 a month insurance? Wow!
I pay £50 a year to have mine serviced by a local guy. It's only 5 years old. As time goes on, I expect I may have to pay for a few parts. When it reaches the end of its useful life, I'll buy a replacement on line and get my local guy to fit it.
A like for like replacement would currently cost £825 plus installation
I too thought £28 was very expensive. I wander what the insurance covers??0 -
I wouldn't trust Homeserve at all, we were told we had a collapsed sewer on our property causing a smell in the bathroom. We got the water company out and it was a loose seal on the loo.
They just wanted to do a quick call.it seems odd that they've insured it for so long if they think it's unusable??0
