Of course, ill have to be sketchy as to why I want to know.

Judi, I'm surprised the police are taking it so casually, they could be doing it to lots of people.
Speky, I'd love to go to a Disney themed restaurant.
Dumpling, I hope Becky's visit goes well.
I've been to DD's looking after a poorly pup, it's a worry as we don't really know what's wrong with her. DD is thinking of bringing her up to see our old vet here because the one she is with don't seem to be much help. Poor DD is really going through it - some lead flashing blew off the roof so she got someone in who condemned the work their cowboy builders did last year. Unfortunately there is no redress because they went bust (hardly surprising). It's so difficult to find good tradespeople these days.
DS and DiL moved into their new home, today is the first day she does her new longer commute so hopefully it will go well. They to have had a bit of an aga saga (literally) the house has an old but working aga. DS was a bit concerned that one of the hob covers was getting a bit hot and rang aga for advice and was told that the cooker had been condemned. It was last serviced early this year by one of their agents and when DS rang him he said that the cooker was fine so now DS is trying t find someone else to come and give their opinion. The people they bought off have been very good and I'm sure they wouldn't have purposely sold something that was unfit so we'll have t wait and see.
Sorry for waffling on, I'll have to go out now and get some cream for my poorly foot.0 -
Hello all
Well the sun is shining but it is very cold. I have been out this morning to Al*i to get some milk, lemonade and a chicken for Sunday. I was going to cheat and have a pie but DGC are here for the day on Sunday as DD and SIL are going to Cardiff to finish their Xmas shopping, so will have the chicken instead as both DGC like it.
I shall hoover and dust downstairs later and that's me probably done for today, housework wise.
DD and I enjoyed the show last night but no one came through for us. The only downside was that they had been varnishing the floor and the smell, coupled with the air con, gave me a few coughing fits ( and I wasn't the only one  ). Poor chap was trying to talk over everyone coughing and he had a rotten cold too. But it was lovely to spend some time with DD .
Tea tonight will be bacon, sausage and egg, so very easy.
HollyH thanks for the kick off.
Snoozer sorry that you and your family are having a tough time with one thing and another. I hope things improve soon.
Judi are you stalking the postman ? :rotfl:
Nelski must be something in the air for both our parents to be like it ! I am sorry to hear about your hip and I hope you don't have to wait too long for a replacement.
Specky don't forget to update us on that restaurant, it sounds really good.
NMLC glad you enjoyed the event last night, despite the hassle with the tickets.
Redruby I don't envy the kitchen rip out, but I will envy the new finished one
Gers I hope your Mum keeps improving.
LaineyT can I borrow you to do my cupboards too ?
Right enough wittering it's lunch time. Hope everyone has a good Friday.
Hugs to all those who need or want one.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon all,
Its just thrown some massive hailstones down here-I was outside at the bin, they stung :rotfl:I was watching the news last night and feeling so sorry for the poor people being flooded a little further North thinking that was us nearly 2 years ago now, it takes so long to get straight. The park at the top of the street was flooded still this morning but it had frozen overnight .
Its DGS birthday,4 today. He goes to nursery school later on a Friday so his Mummy suggested we( DS and me)call at theirs and take him so we can see him on his actual birthday,he's staying with us tomorrow. He wanted to stay and play with his pressies but agreed to go when we said we'd get a cake to takeWe bought one for us to stick candles on at our house tomorrow too.
DH has gone putting a new back door on for one of his customers, bet he's freezing.I'm having a rare treat tonight and going for a Thai meal with some old colleagues so I've got something easy to stick in the oven for the menfolk later. No children to pick up so I'm going to have a pamper session in a bit
Csarina sorry to hear about the ongoing shed saga x
Judi, hope DS gets it all sorted x
Hugs to poorly people,& hope Becky has a good visit dumpling xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
My hip has been very painful lately so a trip to the docs yesterday confirmed i need to go on the list for a replacement
When I told mum she said "but how will you get my shopping?" Grrrr she is so selfish now
Years ago, when Mr LW's mum was housebound after a fall, and there was a petrol crisis so Mr LW couldn't easily go and see her (couple of hundred miles journey) he used to do an online T£sco order for her.
I know internet grocery shopping isn't everyone's first choice (I don't do it myself, I have to admit) but surely, to cover your recovery period, she could manage thus?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Late post from me as I have been footing about at various jobs, bedlinen changed, grubbalicious things cleaned in the kitchen, that sort of deadly boring stuff that proper people get round to and I often don't. Not the bedlinen, I do change that regularly. The bathroom here attracts black mould and I can deal with that but only wearing pjs which don't matter too much if they get mould spray on them, plus the window open to let fumes out. So I am working round it one wall at a time, not a lot of point trying to do it with frozen hands. So a bit more of that done. Betcha all want to be me! My life of glamour and intrigue knows no bounds.
Now that I've made my hands sore from scrubbing, I'm going to find a film and watch it in a mindless sort of way.
Last night's dinner was toad in the hole with spring greens and horrible peas for them and I had hole with spring greens as OH had picked out some sausages from the freezer but not enough for DS's protein needs so he had mine as well as his own. Fine by me, I like hole far better than toad.
Nelski, how selfish, you could simply arrange for her to have a supermarket delivery, she wouldn't need to order it, you or someone else could do that.
Mind less activity beckonsI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

See that to me is the obvious solution too but when I suggested it I swear her bottom lip came out and she said she hated online as she likes to chose it herself and see what other things they have (this is the woman who has exactly the same shopping list every week ) to add a big fat cherry on the cake she said "I dont think you need it doing anyway" ...:rotfl:
Big rant over before I say something I will regret :mad:0 -
Nelski me again, just wanted to send you an extra big hug. I know what you are up against as I've been there, done that etc.. When Mr Fix It was diagnosed with incurable cancer it wasn't even acknowledged by my dad. Now when he Mr Fix It has a review my dad still asks how long he will be on his medication ( er life ) and thinks he will get better, no matter how many times I tell him that's nigh on impossible
.

Thanks nanny its just what I need...it is pure selfishness on their part isn't it ...if they ignore it it will go away. Fact is I need to be a bit selfish too and and if the poor dear has have online for 6 weeks then so be it. I have pre warned all the relatives too (apart from my brother who will have to hear it from her) you never know one of the might step up lol.
Just looked at the waiting list for my area ...20 weeksnot an imminent problem then sadly
Hope Mr Fix it is doing OK that is an awful diagnosis so big hug right back at you my friend xx0 -
Thanks Nelski Mr Fix It is holding his own (ooh er missus ) and we are taking it day to day. He was diagnosed in Jan 2015 and they gave him 5 years without treatment. However the treatment that he's on seems to be slowing it down at present, so we are keeping as positive as possible.
Perhaps having you not at her beck and call for a while, will do her good and appreciate you more, but if it were my dad I wouldn't hold out much hope :rotfl:.
You can PM me if you ever need to talk.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0
