O/S Daily Friday 24th November 2017
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Csarina – I’m so sorry about all the problems you are having with the shed. It has been a nightmare for you.
Gers – hopefully your mum will pick up quickly with a bit of tlc from you.
Nelski – I’m glad that she was able to save the tooth for you.
JackieO – Good discounts for your ferry trips to IOW, it helps keep the cost of the holiday down.
Nannywindow – hope the theatre trip was good and you enjoyed a well earned treat after the past few days with your dad.
Dumpling - Hopefully Becky’s trip home will go well this week. I’ll be thinking of you, and I hope that your visit to the doctor was ok.
I’ve just accidently woken up my niece who was sleeping soundly on the sofa. I forgot she was here. I have no idea what time she came in this morning, but by the looks of her it wasn’t that long ago. I don’t think she will be going shopping very early this morning.
I’ve got a load to go in the wm but I’ll leave that until later and pop out to the sm while she sleeps for a while longer. The forecast is for a cold but bright start to the day, so ideal for an early morning walk to Tesco.
I received my first Christmas card yesterday, and that has made me realise that I must dig mine out from wherever I stored them away last year. I know that there were enough left over and they were put away, but finding them is another matter.
Have a good Friday everyone.0 -
Morning folks and thanks HOLLY for kicking off. By heck but it's a cold and frosty start here, heating on and house warming up nicely. I just looked at the hour by hour forecast for us and there is sleet and snow on high ground tonight!! That'll be us then - NO NO I don't want snow.
I have just woken eldest DGD up as she takes an age to get herself ready for school. Will wake youngest two in a minute or two and then it will be the usual mayhem before they are thrown in the car for school.
I have the excitement of the Friday Tidy once they have gone to school and that's my day spoken for.
GERS I hope your mum soon picks up. JACKIE well done on your saving. CSARINA grrr can imagine your anger, Take care all and ((HUGS)) for all needing/wanting them. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Meant to be turning a lot colder this weekend which I hope means work will be quiet this weekend.
DD is off to London tomorrow to winter wonderland and to do several other things too including an ice bar and dinner out, its a Birthday treat from her young man which is lovely of him.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this we would normally have takeaway but we are saving it till tomorrow night when we will have no kitchen  OH is ripping it out tomorrow !
Must Must wash my work t-shirts tonight or I will have nothing to wear at the weekend !

Good morning
Thanks for starting us off HH
Been up since 6 awake since 4  As usual my brain was nagging me
I have booked a council pick up of my old mattress and a huge old laser printer from the office. Managed to get them outside as they could be here from 7. Grief it was difficult though I feel like I've just run a marathon. Makes me realise that hubbys do have their use sometimes
Had a average day with mum yesterday. She was in a real niggly mood and I spent most of the time counting to 10. Had a prawn salad for lunch but not much appetite so brought it home ..ill have it for lunch today instead
My hip has been very painful lately so a trip to the docs yesterday confirmed i need to go on the list for a replacementWhen I told mum she said "but how will you get my shopping?" Grrrr she is so selfish now
Today is a clean up day but will also be keeping my eye on Amazon for any good black friday deals.
Right ..tea time have a good day all and I hope Becky has a good visit Dumpling :A0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up enjoying first cuppa, I'm up, showered, dressed and have just finished my porridge, DS1 gone to work and DS2 getting in the shower.
Dinner last night was disjointed as DH and I needed to leave at the time I would normally cooking/serving up the dinner, so DH had a snack earlier on, boys had a pizza and chips that they sorted for themselves just after we'd left. Tonight I'm not sure but DH and I are going xmas shopping then getting lunch out before visiting his grandad.
Our event last night was excellent, worth the hassle of getting the tickets which eventually arrived at 12.45pm yesterday, not impressed at all with that ticket seller will never ever use them again, I'd booked and paid for the tickets in October 2016 - when I was having difficulties with them, I looked them up on the internet, omg the reviews were horrific, after reading I was actually very surprised that I actually got valid tickets at all, and they did arrive in time for the event, although that would not have been any good if either myself or DH had not been off work and we'd intended to go out and then straight to the event. I've never had that kind of problem with tickets before, so will just be extra careful next time.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Thank goodness it's Friday.
Toast and jam this morning and headed out to the gym. My pal is coming over tonight for a bit so that'll be cool. Haircut tomorrow then out for dinner with my cousins. We're going to this cool restaurant in Glasgow called Six By Nico in which the theme of the restaurant totally changes every 6 weeks! This time it's Disney, so each course is centred around a Disney movie. Can't wait!
Judi - I hope the call goes well tomorrow. First I've heard of it.0 -
Morning all.
Thanks for your thoughts, DM is on the mend even though she’s sneezing a lot and coughing too.
I had planned to go home today but have been the snow on the Rest and Be Thankful and through Inveraray too. Added to that there’s an four car accident at the top of the Rest so I’ll wait a while and hope it all clears.
Speky - that restaurant sounds interesting, hope you enjoy it.
Nelski - count to ten!
Happy Friday everyone.0 -
Morning everyone,
Later on today, started doing chores upstairs as soon as had finished my shower and have only just come down, thought I felt hungry!
Will carry on after breakfast as want to go through my kitchen cupboards and have a good clear out, my high up shelving needs a hoover and wash down too. It's a bright but cold day so will head over to see Lulu later and hopefully take her out over the fields now the wind has calmed down.
Judi hope everything gets sorted soon, flipping cheek
Have fun Speky the restaurant certainly sounds intriguing.
Glad to read that your Mum is feeling better Gers
Love to all poorlies and those struggling with worries, have a good day folks x0
