Out of interest, who leaves a - pleasant - surprise for the purchasers of an old-build house when completed?

Card, wine, bread, milk, butter, soap, coffee?

I have never met it when buying.....

Box file with all the paperwork they'll need for the house, boiler, dustbin schedule, etc. all in one place, along with keys for house, shed, etc.1 page letter from me and my partner wishing them good luck in the new house and telling them the good and bad things to order from the local takeaways... because that's what most of us go for on our first night in a new home I think.

And 4 page list with photos of stopcock location, where to put bins on collection day and where to find them afterwards, all that stuff.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything

    Which Linden site was this?

It was the Montbray site in North Devon.

I forgot to add, they also left touch up pots of paint as well for knicks or smudges when moving in.

The house we sold in order to buy a new build, we left a letter explaining days of rubbish etc. Which keys were for which. Also where to find stopcocks etc. I think it's just the done thing really, especially if they have been easy enough purchasers along the way. At the time it was our first time buy, so the house held some memories and I'd have like to have thought the next person would appreciate it the same as we did.

Two new pots of paintvabd brushes fit wall touch ups
Folder full of warranties, paperwork etc
Hotel Chocolate champagne and truffles in gorgeous box
Site managers visit on day of move, day 7 & day 14.

I have zero complaints, even snagging issues were sorted within hours.
  • We are about to complete with TW which site are you at?:)
  • We got a hamper with tea, coffee, cookies, chocolates and Prosecco. House was finished 6 months late though so we needed the Prosecco!

Does anybody really let a twenty quid "free" hamper influence a several hundred thousand pound house purchase?
  • That’s good to hear we are due to complete with TW in Bedfordshire in a couple of weeks. The negative press about them worries me.

Absolutely not, I was just interested!
  • We got flowers, a bottle of fizz and a card from the developers.
Our lender got us a welcome pack with toilet rolls, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, two mugs and biscuits.
