Not if you read it properly.
It was savings for car insurance/tax, but they then sold the car so didn't have to pay these costs. It therefore got 'reallocated' as money for christmas presents.0 -

Initially he was a bit subdued about the whole thing. He "remembered" putting the money on the side in our kitchen (he thought it was £500).When we were talking about it later last night,he said "Oh,no.I didn't mean I had put £500 in one go.I put £200 there one day, then £300 a few days later " (because he can only get so much out of ATM per day).Well,I knew that I would remember being given two big lumps of money in a few days,so that never happened :rotfl:.
Earlier this evening he was a bit "I thought I had given it to you/left it for you,but maybe- I don't know anymore".Then even later tonight,he said "Um,well. There is £250 in my wallet at the moment,so I guess that could have been £300 and then I've spent some......"
Yep.To me this sounds exactly like what's happened.More likely than his initial theory that I handed over £500 to the lovely teller at Natwest, then when it jammed, accepted her word for it that I had handed over £240 :eek:SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

He sounds a bit haphazard with large sums of money that most of us would keep much closer tabs on. :eek:Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0
