Broadband Switching Question

I am looking for some help regarding the broadband switching process, as I am not 100% sure how it all works.
I currently have an SSE deal, which went live on the 14th June 2016. On the 14th December, my 18 month deal will expire and I will lose the discounted rate.
Can I arrange a new product with a new supplier today, for a switch date of say, the 15th December and all will be ok?
My current T&C's state that I can end the agreement on the date that it is replaced by another provider, or on giving SSE 28 days notice.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Yes you can do that, if your preferred new supplier lets you specify a start date. If they don't wait until two weeks before your minimum term ends (it usually takes about two weeks to transfer broadband) and sign up with a new supplier. Any overlap will be minimal.I am looking for some help regarding the broadband switching process, as I am not 100% sure how it all works.

Thanks for your help.
I might do that and ask them which date they are giving me for the switch.
SSE sent me a letter saying they can help me save money by offering the broadband for £28 a month. My existing payment is £21 :rotfl:0 -

I'm in the same position. The £28 only counts if you have gas and electric with them as well. Where are you going? I'm considering EE.0 -

Think EE works out at £22 a month for me equivalent, building in the £75 reward card and £50 Quidco/TCB.
The BT option looks better: Infinity 1 - 29.99 a month with £100 reward card and £80 quidco. Works out at equivalent £20.55 with free BT Sports for 18 months.
Although my SSE contract was £16 equivalent with cashback
Note: This is for 38MB Fibre0 -

I looked at that one as well, but I've gone for 76MB fibre at £33 a month from EE with £100 cashcard and £50 from quidco. It also gives me an extra 5GB of mobile data on my mobile which is with EE. The equivalent deal was £39.99 from BT.
One of my concerns was a termination fee - fixed period is up on 9/12/17 but EE will meet that up to £50 if it happens to connect before then - which is quite unlikely.
Edit to say:- are you sure your account ends on the 14th? My bills are from the 15th, I think I went live on the 15th, but when I phoned to ask about the end date I was told the 9th.0 -

Yeah, looks like the deals are different for the 78Mb. Unfortunately I can't get that.
You make a point regarding the end date. Think i'll phone up just to check.
Cheers :T0
