Cancelling my BT TV service

Hey everybody,

Just looking for a bit of advice.

I have just tried to cancel my BT TV and broadband package. I tried doing this on live chat but I got told it must be done via phone.

The problem is, at the minute I do not have access to a phone to make or receive calls. Even if I did, i do not wish to speak to them anyway.

They told me that can process a request but it may take longer than 14 days. That is no good for me as I wish to cancel immediately.

Am I able to just cancel my direct debit or could they take me to court for this?

I gave notice on live chat but to the billing department, would that suffice?

I am out of contract in 2 weeks time.

Cancelling the DD doesn't cancel the contract. It just gives you some extra fees to pay.

If notice needs to be by phone, you need to find a phone. Any phone boxes in your street?

Key question here is are you in contract .If so you will have to pay the remaining months fees .
