The pump price is based on the per litre price of the fuel delivered at time of delivery.
When the petrol station reaches a given level in their storage tanks, they order a tanker to replenish the fuel levels. The price they pay the refinery reflects the price the customer pays once the tanker has made it's delivery.Never Knowingly Understood.
