Paid to sit next to each other but weren't - can i ask for a refund?

Not all seats are available for selection at OLCI. They hold a few rows back towards the rear of the aircraft in case they have seating problems with split families who didn't bother to pay to sit together. They are allocated at the airport, or once on board.
You said there was empty rows you could move to, but then say a member of crew asked your husband to move. It seems you gladly gave up your 2 aisle seats with extra legroom (you must be mad lol) to be seated adjacent in standard seats. Your husband could have easily declined to move, which is what I would have done. The mum and child could then have been moved to the rear of the aircraft and then they'd have had plenty of room.0 -

OK, but since they moved after being asked by a member of the crew they are in a strong position to ask for a refund. And there is nothing mad about having different preferences: some people would rather be close to each other than have extra legroom.0 -
You did sit together so what is the problem?........ Is it that you were foolish to pay the £90 extra for something you could and did get for free?Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0
