Wow was it windy in the night. Ive just found my wheelie bin down the bottom of the garden and the contents strewn around it. Fortunately its all in bags so it wasnt too messy to clean up.

Glad i'm not on the school run today, its enough to blow your head off! Need to pop to my local shop sometime today, i'm doing carbonara for tea. Me and Youngest feast on pasta and rice when Grump is away. Grump's more of a meat and two veg man.

David Cassidy.... i was more a Donny Osmond fan but me and my friend Patsy used to argue who was the best. I think Patsy was more a David Essex fan.... He never made her a star and David Cassidy said "could it be forever", well he lied. RIP David, i forgive you.:)

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Better night last night, but still feeling drained this morning.

At last I got my script from the chemist, the missing medication was in, so I did not need the emergency medication, gave it back to the chemist. It will take a day or two for the meds to work as they usually do, so will have the continued loo dash for a while longer, coughing or sneezing can cause an acute problem.

Fine morning but windy, OH has to just finish off the shed ready for them to take it down tomorrow and erect the new one. We moved the roofing felt and some wooden battens round the back, but the rest of the shed is on the front grass, they can move it themselves.

Cleaners due on Friday. WE have managed not too bad, had to have the dyson out a couple of times but thats all. Need to relay the fire, give the dust time to settle.

Spag bol and garlic bread for supper tonight, have been using up stuff from the freezer, I want to empty the little freezer in the kitchen and de frost it. My other two freezers are automatic defrost.
  • Quick check in from me, have blitzed the bathroom in ludo washing g blinds, this house is infested with vertical blinds which I dislike at the best of times but these onesare not just not to my taste, they are so shabby and we're foul with dirt in the kitchen and bathroom, obviously those got cleaned but they are grubby again, at least bathroom ones are. I did them in the bath, too old to risk them in the wm.
Now am in middle of horrid ironing, someone I supervise is about to send me a report to read and do QA and sign off, well bu##er really, this having a break is not what it should be, I had to do that yesterday too.

Later I shall cook jerk chicken or something, they like spicy, I don't really so I might have a bit of salad and sone rice, DS gets my meat mostly.
I've neark finished my cup of tea so had better get back to ironing, I'm only doing what is necessary, am not a masochist.

I have vertical blinds but although i love the idea of them i hate the fact i cant wash them. Every so often i get the furniture attatchment connected to my vacuum and dust them with it which brings does help but its such a chore. I dont have curtains because of the dust.... fat free they might be but i dont like dust.

Message from Youngest... "Mom what do i do? Someone has emptied my bank account". They have stolen well in excess of £2,000! Ive sent him the phone number of the bank's fraud department.

Yes you can. I do ours in the bath and hang them up still wet with a couple of towels on the windowsill. They dry very quickly. OMG to your son's bank account. I hope he gets his money back asap.

Speky speaking as a mother, the best present you could have given me would be the fact that you are in your own home, cooking and cleaning for yourself and aren't (well not as far as we know) dating a bunny boiler. Anything else would be a bonus.
  • Cranky, that's what I've done, a few bits are a little creased but the creases should drop when they are fully dry.

Judi, that's awful, he must be so worried.

Speky I left you out by mistake, a small gift specially chosen means more to me than lots of expense. Suspect your mum will feel the same. And - have you tried your hand at making truffles or chocolates? Some home made sweeties in a pretty container is a lovely gift

Thanks but i did ask when i bought them if they were washable and the woman who sold them to me looked at me horrified. I couldnt take the risk as funds wouldnt allow replacements. I must say i am tempted to try giving them a wash in the bath though.

Youngest had an phone call from an unknown number at work and googled it. It was the bank. Not knowing if it was a scam he didnt ring it but checked his bank account anyway. Nice of them to leave him £8..... The bank is looking into it, they did ring him because the transactions going out didnt match his activity. I asked him when his direct debits were due out of his account. He didnt have a clue. He'll sort it out when he comes home.

I asked a few people.....my mate put hers in the washing machine and they came out a mangled wreck so I thought as straight as possible would be good, hence the bath. I used warm water and vanish anti-whatever stuff, but not lots. It worked fine. They need doing again because the cats do a kind of slalem thing through them. Try washing one slat off the end. Mine are quite big so I folded them in half in the bath. Once they were up and weighted again they hung fine. Don't leave them anywhere to dry though, hang them straight back up wet.

Ye gods and little fishes, Judi I hope the bank get to the bottom of what's happened with Youngest's account quickly, and he gets his money back. I'm not going to say what I think of scumbags who do that sort of thing, as I'd be banned from MSE if I did!

Shame about David Cassidy; although I was never really a fan, I was more into T.Rex - and of course Marc Bolan died back in 1977.:(
Mr LW has just informed me that David Cassidy was the same age as him.

The pc has been collected to go to "pc hospital". We are pretty sure the problem is with the cooling system. The courier was very efficient; arrived 20 minutes into the one-hour slot we'd been told, and was polite and well-spoken, so we're impressed there. :o
I just hope it's fixed quickly, as Mr LW is moping around like a dog whose Kong has been taken away. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
