Sooo... first spend. I got a £10 off ebay voucher so bought a massive 1kg milled flax seed and chai seed mix for our morning smoothies. £10.99, so cost me 99p I think it was a wise spend, as it was on our must have shopping list for the month.

I'm recording it as 10.99/100 Shopping budget and sending £10 to the debt...

    10/47.14 found!

    EDIT:

Had to buy loo roll so popped to the shops. £2.41 points on CO card so used it. Recording full amount as spent, so 14.74/100 shopping budget.

    2.41 sent to debt so

  • Mini shop today as work has cheap cat food, so I planned ahead and bought it for the month.

8.79 spent so 23.53/100 shopping budget.

Petrol needs to be bought tomorrow. It will mean 30 has lasted 7 tripes to work and one college day. Counting the days I should be able to scrape by on my £100 petrol budget. There's a chance it could tip me over though, so I need to be careful!

Did a massive cook tonight, used lots of store cupboard ingredients which will do lunch for me for the next two days and another dinner for us. I want to get a small top up shop so have checked what we need and am aiming for a low spend.

Plans tomorrow are to glue my sole of my shoe and then a workmate has offered me a free pair of shoes, so I need to pick a pair tomorrow. My partner then is going to return the work boots she bought me for my birthday and instead the money will go towards me doing some nice things with a friend :)

Tomorrow I would like to chase up my online banking login so I can refer a friend.

    Right, Payday!

So I've decided to pay the 1000 from my salery, but not everything from my emergency fund yet as I am being slightly cautious as to how well I am going to do....

So 268.58 From the emergency fund equals

    1268.58 paid.

    -
This month incoming I will have 1927.18 (1517.18 received)
    Outgoing bills I have 117 + 45.5 +18.72 + 453.36 +35.41 +19.82 = 689.81 (none sent yet)
    Leaves £1237.37

    WAITING FOR
100 coming in from a bank switch within 30 days. I will be referring a friend but I don't think that will come in in time.
    7.89 due bank interest.
7.68 from an old bank account I have switched.
618.28 'emergency' fund left. (268.58 of this paid to debt so far)

    -

Also want to add that I've been doing mini money saving things since I decided to be debt free in April.

I gave me 50% off plant voucher to a workmate. This was a big thing for me as I wait for this voucher each year and buy a big specimen I could not normally afford.

In return she brought in loads of steel toe work shoes and I found a perfect pair to wear. Super soft and good enough to last me until I leave the job.

That has meant that my partner can return the expensive boots she bought me for my birthday.

He money from that was going to be spent on me socialising with a friend, but my electric toothbrush has broken, so I have asked for one of those instead. We will take a look this weekend and try and find quidco cashback :)

Also got a free bottle of posh orange juice to 'test' through work. Am bringing this and some of the free bottles of wine my partner has collected through work to London when I visit a friend. I'm going to buy or bake some sweet treats and have explaiend that I can't afford to eat out or go out, which fortunately she is fine with :) the train tickets are going to be £40. I've weighed up driving, but I wasn't very confident last time, so I think although it's 20 more, I will have to train.

Resisted food shopping. I batch cooked on the weekend and it has lasted us two dinners and me three work lunches. This has now run out, and we are out fo milk and tea. But I am going to push us to friday to do a proper shop together.

Also cancelled a beauty and magazine renewal, which were my little treats.

And have been doing populus surveys and scanning receipts.

... I reaaaallly need to ebay some bits this weekend. I hate doing it, but I recon I can find the excess money needed and make this a more comfortable debt free month if I do.

Going for a food shop today. I have written a strict list and meal planned. Walking there to save petrol and enjoy the sun.

Listed item on gtree. Had interest, but lower then I wanted. Umming and ahhing, but I think I'm better listing it on ebay for a higher price. Going to look through a few items today with my partner to list more to sell. Took some pictures of a lovely stone birdbath I have which probably wont come with me when I move, so will list that.

Worked really hard at getting a refund. estimated readings had resulted in them wanting to double my direct debit and saying I owed 130. Turned out they owed me 53.84. I havn't received it yet, hut sent to debt anyway as I needed a win after two hours on the phone.

    paid 9563.02/ 10K

Accidentally paid the debt twice as it didn't look like it went through, so another 53.84 paid!

I've worked out that once I have the incoming 410 from my partner, £100 bank switch, 53.84 from eon... and outgoing 120 council tax, 36 water, 454 mortgage and the 383.14 debt repayment made I will have 161.02 left two spend until payday on the 27th, which is more then I had though. Hopefully :)

  • Sooooo I'm DEBT FREE!

    10k paid!

I couldn't wait any longer as it's been eating away at me the past few weeks, so I double checked my maths of incoming and outgoing and decided to just do it!

Worse case if my £100 bank switch (which is due to be paid to me within the next 15 days) and 53.84 refund (which is due in 3-5 days) are delayed, then I have £20 cash for petrol top up on Friday and £25 marks and Spencer's voucher for food to see me by. Once those payments have been made I think I will relax a bit more as I will be able to pay for petrol and food and survive until payday.... and then all my money is mine, bwahahaha!

In the mean time I am listing bits on eBay as Gtree hasn't had any bites, have a gift to return and I am going to swap it for toiletries I will use (I have checked and the company is fine with this)... so will just carry on doing what I am doing.

I feel a bit anti climatic, I think because I paid it off rather then wait for the money owed to me, so I have minimum money to survive on until then... so will wait for the relief to sink in.

I think I'm then going to have a bit of a break from here just to let it all sink in.
