Buying a diesel (second hand nearly new)

I drive a big diesel, simply because I regularly have to go massive distances for work. My average yearly mileage is over 50,000, so 1000 miles a WEEK on average.
Even if Diesel becomes punitively expensive, I won't be able to find a petrol car with close to the comfort, driveability and reliability of my diesel. So I told my boss that my next car needs to be a Tesla.
