“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

Watch out for a scam doing the rounds, it says that you will be getting money in lieu of free school meals and that you need to put in your bank details. Complete scumbags doing this at anytime ☹9

School have text again offering school pack lunches but no delivery available. I think they are really struggling with staff. They've had to make it so only 10 children can now attend for key workers due to ratios needed. It's tough for us all.
We have painted rainbows and done some school work. I still feel we don't really do enough? But I feel I'm not sure I want to force them to be sat at the table for hours either. What's everyone else doing?“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”7 -
I would be as relaxed as possible about it.Some t the end of the day it's not the end of the world.
Some authorities are paying money in leiu of the free meals & in my opinion they should all be.

I would be speaking to your LA as it is not your fault you cannot pick up the lunches & IMHO if they cant deliver then they should offer an alternative that you can use.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Hi WB
I'm out of my depth completely with DS's school work but I'm finding he's working through quite a bit in an hour so bad Mum that I am I'm happy with that in the morning and another session in the afternoon. With little ones I'd be making it as fun as possible and not stressing about it too much. I have read that children who are in school are literally being looked after as though they're in after school club, which if true is fair from both points of view. Why should they have to do lessons and why should those at home miss out on lessons. I think at the moment as long as they're doing a bit of reading and writing that's fine. Enjoy the weather and the garden while you can and have some fun. There are lots of things to worry about out there at the moment and I wouldn't add school work to your list
Take care. xx

Totally agree with TF2. When school restarts they will have to start teaching from where they left off. No way are all of the kids going to be on the same page otherwise. You have enough to worry about WF, please give yourself some leeway. Hugs to you all. XI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy7 -
That's what I was worried about. I've tried to keep the virus news from them other than what's absolutely necessary but I think it's still uncertain times for the smalls too. It's all a bit different isn't it. They are doing some just not the amount of a full school day.
Beanie I don't really want the sandwiches from school to be honest. I'm worried who's made them/who they've been in contact with etc. It makes me worry. Our whole LA Is providing lunches through each school as they feel that's what's needed to make sure those who are most vunerable actually get food. Depressing but it's true a lot of the children here only get food when in school so social services and school headteachers decided this was the best route.
Those under social services are receiving deliveries of pack lunches and breakfasts from their social worker who's collecting it from school. I think if I was desperate they'd find a way of either our school or another school delivering to us.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”6 -
And on a positive note.
we have food. I have meal planned. No one will go hungry or be unhappy. Even have baking on there so there will be snacks.
I'm going to try and keep on top of the bills as much as possible. I don't want to end up having loads to catch up on. It won't be possible.
We have each other. And so far we are all still healthy. DD had a temp at one point but I think she was just warm or the thermometer decided to just keep me on my toes.

I think you are balancing it right ...... And their teachers will agree!
It's a difficult time for all children and they just need love, nurture and to keep in touch with some learning but certainly not to their detriment. You've got this!7 -
I wouldn't worry too much about school work Wannabe. As someone said they're just being babysat at school now as far as I can tell. I haven't been into school yet so I can probably find out more next week
