Glad you've all had a lovely Christmas & hope that your youngest is on the mend.

  • I need to aim to pay the council tax debt and rent arrears this year.

    I want them gone ;)

I won't be overpaying EX fine. £10 a week is more than enough.

I really want to try and pay the last £100 to new debt this week along with some to council tax. I really didn't want to be going into the new year with 'new debts'

We have a tight budget now until the 18th when it's payday, although I'll need to do DD's birthday out of this payday then I have DS's and youngest out of Feb's payday. Least after that I have no more celebrations until next Xmas :rotfl:

Meal plan is next on my list.

  • Was a success and definitely a learning curve for next year. Considering less than £120 was spent all together I was worried it just wouldn't be enough.

I did have more set aside and available if needed but other than ice skating we didn't need or miss out on anything. So it went off the debt instead.

We have a busy start of the year with birthdays (mine and all 3 smalls) Although mine doesn't get celebrated, DS has mentioned it so maybe we will have to make a cake or something. He might forget though.

Happy new year to you too :D x

Meal plan is done. Allowing for some changes in case of changes with youngest.

Have enough until next weekend when we will probably need some fresh bits mainly potatoes and milk, probably need juice too.

All the decorations down now other than the hallway tree. Youngest loves the lights so leaving it for now.

Someone has set fire to several bins out front tonight. Tomorrow I must bring mine back round to the back.

  • Morning Wannabe,

Sorry to hear DD is still poorly, at least if she's sleeping her body is fighting what ever it is. You too must rest, even if it's a nap in the chair, not easy with kids I know, but you need your strength too.....sorry to nag.

I'm really glad that you had a great Christmas and as Uncanny said, with the gift vouchers, do what makes you and the smalls happy.

    Your goals look good.

    Big hugs xxx

Good to hear from, we were all starting to worry. Glad the little one is recovering at home, bless her. If she likes the lights, could you leave a set of fairy lights up for her all year round, perhaps round a mirror or something. I have a few lights I keep up all the time but then I'm obsessed with fairy lights!

You should spend your vouchers on whatever you need, this will then free up your cash for other things. They're your vouchers to do with as you wish and as US says that will make whoever sent them happy :)

How wonderful to hear you enjoyed your Christmas so much. Christmas with little ones is so magical, make the most of it while they're still young.

Another one nagging you to get some rest, you need to look after yourself too.

You say you don't celebrate your birthday - I know how it is when you have young children, I don't remember any of my birthdays from age 24 to 39, too busy with kids - but you should at least mark the occasion, even if it's only by making a cake or getting the smalls to make you a card.

You've done so well paying off the debts when so much is going on and your new year plan sounds good, it would be a load off your mind to get rid of the arrears.

Hope you have a good weekend xx

    good luck and well done

I think you are doing the right thing by making xmas special for the smalls (and for you), when they are all 20+ then its a bit harder to get the xmas spirit, especially with DD1 doing night shifts on xmas eve and xmas day

good luck for next year - hopefully you will be able to clear a bit more away and that light at the end of the tunnel will be shining a little brighter
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • Thank you :)

SA I really don't like my birthday :o and it's never been a thing for us to bring up but DS has mentioned it a few times especially over Xmas. If he does bring it up we will do a cake or something.

Youngest has her dad sat with her so I've come to bed for an hour. I don't think I can fall asleep though :o :rotfl:
