Where I live there is a group of volunteer drivers who are all vetted & who offer people to appointments and other things.
    Worth looking into.
TRy the WRVS & the Red Cross too :)

It's definitely more tricky when you've got older children who need to get to and from school. Sleepovers sound good and much less stressful for you than trying to entertain 3 of them in a hospital room and the add on costs of drinks and food that go with that. :o

My friend has used a volunteer driving service a couple of times with her DS and they've been taxi drivers who've also been vetted. But if you're worried about getting back in time for the older two and would only use the service one way you might not save much on the train costs. Will you also need to use the bus or can you put the £50 you spend on that ticket towards the train fare?

I know you have to think all these things through but I'm sending you back to your bubble soon :rotfl: xx

Just do whatever you have to do to get through these few weeks ahead. You are like me, not wanting to have to rely on others who might let you down. I understand this. Stay strong xx

Tea the bus pass is already paid for now it goes out by direct debit. The train pass though would save a lot of walking too. It would mean I could do the school run and get on the train at my local station rather than going into town to get on the train there (to save costs) as the pass covers the journey from my local to the city (and back etc) so cuts down the travel time even more!

I'm still in the bubble. Just been filling my diaries/calendars and to do lists in etc. Also wanted to know if I could offload the older two on the weekends to friends.

January is full of the hospital. It's a full 4 weeks (at least) the review on the 3rd Feb.

After that it's my birthday the same week Then the 3 smalls the following 3 weeks on the run along with half term.

I've not finished filling everything in. But I'm off to bed after my cuppa x

    Thank you SA X

I really hope the next four weeks proves fruitful. I'm sure you've made the right decisions.

Have rang around a few places and haven't found any volunteers that would fit us in early enough but still around the school run. I think the train is definitely going to be my best option without adding extra worries of being late and things on. It's a very frequent run so even if a train is missed the next one still gets us to either end on time.

I've meal planned and need to spend the weekend batch cooking things into 'freezer meals' This will cut down on costs and save time too.

There's a lot being spoken about and plans being made for the start on Monday. It's scary but I'm still hopeful this will all work out for the better.

Anyway we are mainly still enjoying the Christmas bubble hope you all are too.

    A whole new year tomorrow.

Emailed the MP right after the election results Beanie. Still on side and willing to provide help when the hearing is held. Still chase DLA often. More than once a week. Still no date. Hopeful it will be soon be though. It's 12 months since sending the written request for appeal and 14 months since last received payment. It can't be much longer.

Will find a way to fit everything in this month and juggle things around. Focusing on the end goal of it all being worth it.

By the time the appeal finally happens, you will have a hell of a lot of ammunition to hit them with. All the hospital visits and extra things you have to do will fill a book, how they could deny it first time round beats me, I just hope it happens soon for you :(

I really hope next year is a LOT better for you than this one has been, and that the next few weeks give you a big improvement for DD
