    Made me :rotfl: ;)

Toast and coffee time, friend not off shift yet .. very much delayed so not sure if we will get time before smalls get home.

Youngest one for got some sweets from in-laws yesterday, I might have [STRIKE]stolen[/STRIKE] taste tested one for safety measure ;)

Now I NEED to locate more of said sweets for [STRIKE]myself[/STRIKE] smalls because they are definitely a need.

I feel another discount store hunt starting :rotfl:

Why did I think bringing smalls into the decision on what to have for Xmas dinner was a good idea? We've been sat nearly 30 minutes and the outcome so far will be buying a big bottle of alcohol and letting them fend for themselves :rotfl:

Youngest wants a picnic with onion rings
DD wants pasta or bacon or egg or lots of other weird combos
DS wants a roast (normal!) then he added in we can have a picnic later - with sausage rolls and cakes and things.

    Jeez!

  • Could you compromise on a special picnic tea on Christmas eve, saving some carrot sticks and mince pies for you know who and a roast on Christmas day.

That's a good idea and roast something on Christmas Day. Pasta on Boxing Day. Everybody happy? I wouldn't dismiss the bottle of alcohol, though.

We came up with similar as the compromise.

They are finally in bed! Wow they are excited :o and loud!

I didn't get wrapping paper :o To be honest I haven't done much :o :rotfl:

I have however cleaned (again :o), Meal planned, Sent the last of the cards to random family members via Mums front door :rotfl: She will be away with them so can hand them out. Saves post and they don't send one to us so don't really bother me we won't see them.

We haven't had a conventional Christmas Day since my mum passed away. I don't eat meat, Mr SA and DD don't like turkey, I'm an only child, our parents have passed on (my dad is still alive but I haven't seen him since I was 14), etc.

One year we had curry for Christmas dinner.

Another year we went to Skegness for the day with the dog and took a picnic. I think this was my favourite Christmas Day to be honest, the roads were empty and we were there in next to no time - plus it was the Christmas just before Mr SA got ill.

Do whatever you want, it doesn't matter if it isn't "traditional".

  • Christmas with just you and the kids will be fabulous. You can do exactly what you want without having to please other people. You can have a lovely roast dinner, play board games, watch Christmas films etc. They will love having you all to themselves :).
