I'm another who has refused to donate to the 'teacher fund'. I don't agree with it at all and hate the pressure implied where people feel like they can't say no.

I hope that your day improves xx

  • I'm horrified to hear about all these schools asking for that level of contribution per child for the teachers gifts - if someone was leaving then asking for something small might perhaps be the order of the day, but that's absolutely ridiculous! Absolute full marks to all of you stamping your feet and refusing to contribute - good on you.

WF hope your day gets better from here on although I bet the nativity was lovely!

Nativity was amazing EH. She didn't really do much and dressing up is a no-go. She did sing and do the actions though. I'm so proud. Considering this time last year we were stuck on the kids ward in a room on our own and truly fed up! Not to mention she couldn't even say a word nor would she stand/join in with anyone else. So I think there was some tears. Definitely deserved her gingerbread man and cuppa :rotfl:

Christmas tree delivered, heating fixed. More spends  Fairy ordered for the Xmas tree.

    All worth it though.

Smalls eating dinner so taking 10 minutes to myself with a brew x

10 minutes and a restorative drink is great - could you manage a few bites of dinner too - or a gingerbread man, or even just his leg?

Just catching up, I’m a teacher too and would be horrified if people were paying that much into a gift for me.

Sorry to hear you’ve had bad news, lovely to hear he nativity was so good though.
