Hi WB. Just popping on to say I hope DD has settled in and things are moving forward. Is she allowed to leave the ward/room and go to the cafe etc. with the other DC's. Hope they were both OK at the after school club and also that you're feeling less anxious now you're there. xx0

Think I'd be taking in a !!!! Turpin hat and mask to the school and telling them the powers that be there should all be wearing one!
Really hoping you get a positive outcome from the hospital tests, and some medication that will make life easier for you and DD2 (((hugs)))I Believe.....

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thank you all x Collected smalls £5 taxi back, I walked to collect them taxi back.
School is expensive but I think working it out overall it isn't as bad (if you're not skint
) But they are at school 90 minutes before school start and are there nearly 3 hours after school too. So 4 1/2 hours a day x 2 smalls for 3 days.
On another note I think tomorrow I'm going to walk down to the shop just outside the 'grounds' and buy a loaf of bread and something to put on it and some fruit. It will still be more expensive than a supermarket but not as crazy as in here. Me and the older two have just come for dinner - 2 kids meals (that are basically sausage & chips/chicken nuggets & chips. Plus a jacket potato with cheese, 3 cold drinks - £20.13!!) Youngest is fed obviously but I have a sneaky packet of sweets in my bag for her too
and some crisps - Promoting healthy eating obviously isn't my strong point this week
:rotfl:
I expect we'll see some 'withdrawal' effects on her over night though and if sweets and salt and vinegar sticks help - I'm all for it being medicinal purposes
Thank you again for all the replies

The cost of the clubs isn't too bad at around £2.50 per hour per child if it helps parents with work, but you've hit the nail on the head, it's expensive if you're just paying it out and not bringing anything in.

The hospital situation intrigues me and you don't need to go into details, but I can't figure out how they can accommodate you all but not have any facilities for you to cook etc.
Hope DD doesn't have too bad a night. I'd be giving her as many sweeties as she wanted if it helps her to get through, bless her. xx0 -
When my SIL was in hospital and my Sis had to stay with her, Sis was fed by the hospital as she was entitled to it as Carer. Are you not entitled to anything? Surely the nurses can slip you a few sandwiches?! XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

That does seem a lot of money for your food at the hospital for all of you. I expect the shop would be cheaper. I hope everything goes well for you at the hospital. Are you all sleeping at home or at the hospital? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

No parents don't get food lucky but the breakfast round this morning gave me a cup of tea
Tea they aren't supposed to be here outside visiting hours (only parents are allowed 24 hours a day) but I don't have anywhere else for them to go. So they are doing breakfast/after school club. Then by the time they've had dinner it's their 'bedtime' they are sharing the parent bed. Please don't all be offended I have a girl and boy sharing. Theres no other option and it's just 3 days not something long term or something we make a habit off.
If things get where I think they shouldn't be around to see etc then I'll have to find another solution. Youngest is too young to be left alone. They don't 'allow' you to leave them alone this young unless they are on hdu where the parents bed is in a separate room down the corridor as obviously a parent bed at the side of the patient bed is just in the way in hdu. We are in a side room. With a view out over the 'gardens' it's quite big too! Enough room to play etc.
Again please don't judge on the smalls bedsharing
