My SOA and diary of my debt journey

  • I'm really proud of myself: since coming on here, I've managed to get our monthly outgoings down, I'm working on paying off our debts within the next few years and I'm earning money just from sitting on my big behind.

In total, since 13th October I've earned £184 via Quidco and £90 through ebay, I've also signed up to a few survey websites so I'm hoping to get stuff through them too.

Can anyone recommend any other sites which offer cashback or paid survey, I've signed up to:

    Quidco
    Rpoints
    Pigsback
    YouGov
    Test and Vote
    Ciao

    Many thanks xx

  • Thank you mrsspendalot,

On top of the profits I listed above, I got paid today and got £89 more than I was expecting so not only was there enough money in the bank for all our bills, but I managed to spend £50 on some food shopping and still have £20 left over to pay towards my debt, a good week all in all.

I getting the hang of this debt free thingy :rotfl:

  • To update on money earned via Quidco, Ebay and Amazon:

    Ebay - £88.92 26 items
    Amazon - £8.87 2 items
    Quidco - £214.97

    Total - £312.76

I haven't received the money from Quidco just yet but to know it's on the way is just as good.

I've run low on items to sell but just to know I've made a healthy profit on the stuff I have sold is encouraging.

  • Good evening all,

Just tallied up my total debt, although it is still very high £44676.35, it's £1241.18 lower than last month at my lbm which I'm really pleased with.

Hubby is working away again this weekend, he will be home t'moro evening with £700, which will be put to good use. I can't use it all for the debts but it will certainly make a dent.

Another really good thing I've done this week, I had budgeted £20 for my nephew's xmas present, went to Woolworths who are having a huge sale and managed to get his pressie for £11.24 :T , only person left is my little sister then it's the food shopping which should only come to £40.

All in all not a bad week xx

  • Well I got to working on my Quidco, thanks to SS for the list of free signups, £1 already validated in my account (very fast) just waiting for the others to show. I must have signed up to about 6-7 different websites.

At the minute my cashback stands at £220.11, I opened my Quidco account round about the first week of October this year, so to have all this cashback within 2 months is brill.

I'm working on my Rpoints and Pigsback accounts but they are somewhat slower than Quidco.

Will update t'moro when hubby gets paid and I'm able to pay more towards cc's

    xx

  • Well, hubby was paid :j budgeted another £30 to get more pressies for my son, got him loads, I went to InStore and they have the marvel action figures for £2.50 and Narnia figures for 99p, also got him Matchbox cars and aeroplanes that were in the Woolworths sale.

Paid £57 towards cc's, although we will be able to pay more on Tuesday when we get more money, should be able to put another £163 towards them.

It's nice to finally see the balances going down for once, we used to pay the minimum amount then spend up to the limit, I have really learnt my lesson with cc's, they are the devil's work

    xx

Agreed! I didn't spend on my CC for a few weeks - result a letter saying you can have this really low interest rate and spend all this! really responsible of them - poor things don't earn anything off me coz I can fortunatley pay them off every month.

Sorry for rant - good to see you are doing well and good luck for your oh in jo hunting.
  • I don't really have anything to report, it's all going along nicely, hubby is working away again this weekend, while I miss him like mad, it gives me more freedom to stay on the net and earn cashback through Quidco and surveying. He doesn't really like it when I'm constantly on the puter.

On a more personal note I've got 5 weeks left til baby no 2 is due, I'm starting to get my bag together and in true dfw fashion I have collected all my free samples of wipes, nappies, toiletries etc to take into the hospital with me, plus all the baby things like pram, cot, etc has been bought for us, all we need to get is a new mattress for the cot which will cost £20. I've even been buying babygro's and vests from my fave shop Jelly's, which sells excellent quality 2nd hand baby clothes.

With regards to my xmas challenge, I just need to save £20 for my little sister's present then it's just the food, I've budgeted £40, that'll bring it nicely to my budget of £200, well done me, lol :rotfl:

I will be making overpayments to the cc's this week, the cc I have with Alliance have frozen interest and charges for 3 months so I can get the balance below the limit, it's currently at £2796 and the limit is £2700, I will be paying £90 this week, then next month will be another £63, so the balance will be £2643 when they start back up with the interest again, but at least I wont get charged overlimit fees :D

I think I will call it a day, baby is kicking away and I need to lie down.
