Judi glad grump has found some work,we are still struggling.DH & DS work mainly in the domestic building sector and its been the worst 6 months I can remember since DH became self employed shortly after we married 42 years ago .It doesnt help that they are waiting for a job on a house where the owner is doing a lot of the work himself and doesn't seem to know what he's doing really-they were meant to start 6-8 weeks ago. Still as DS says -its only money

Sorry to hear your going through the same thing RosyRed. Youngest has got work coming out of ears for new builds but like i say the commercial side is really struggling. He blames the delay in coming out of the EU. He says everyone is scared to spend money. One thing is for sure, no one expected the 'divorce' would last this long. The uncertainty will last a lot longer i fear.

    Afternoon all.

Happy Birthday to Hester - hope you have a lovely day.

I've been to work (no ferry today) and the class were much more positive and engaging, they all spoke in class which is a huge step forward. Now I hear that my colleague is having problems with her class which is face to face. Never ends.

Before I went out this morning I put on quick wash and hung it all on the upstairs airer. The rain here is awful, thick drizzle all day, grey skies but not too cold, nowhere near as cold as yesterday was. Weird weather.

My repaired Bose speaker arrived back yesterday, it was lovely to have it by the bed as I like to listen to podcasts before going to sleep. Mostly I fall asleep before the end of the podcast!

I did a wee bit of shopping on the way home, my plan was to go to the bank but it was still closed for lunch and I didn't want to hang about.

Cup of tea and a bit of 'me' time.

Did the Xmas shopping trip this morning............ Turkeygate Avoided :rotfl:. Dad was on his best behaviour although he decided wanted to use an invalidity scooter thingy with the basket on the front. So the shopping took 3 times as long and we lost him twice :(. Thought we were going to have an arguement over the turkey (again) but he backed down, probably because there were other people around. Didn't help that he had forgotten his hearing aid, he really needs 2 of them but that suggestion has fallen on deaf ears :rotfl:. Ok I'll get my coat ! Anyway we came back here and I cooked burgers and chips with a side salad. Mr Fix It has just taken Dad home and I have put the DW on so we are now relaxing. Most of the Xmas food is stashed away and all that's needed now is the fresh stuff :j
Going to shut up now because I am boring myself, let alone everyone else :rotfl:.
Hester wishing you many happy returns of the day. :bdaycake: Will the boat be a rocking tonight ? ;)
Judi I am hoping that Mr Grump has landed a good job, but 4hrs is a heck of a trek. What part of Wales is he going to ? Any chance he could stay during the week and go home at weekends ? I do hope things work out for you.
Deleted_User I hope the day has got better and you sleep well tonight.
Sending healing vibes to the poorlies and hugs to anyone who would like or need one.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Hoppy Birdday Hester - I assume you'll be celebrating in the traditional manner? ;):rotfl:

My sister took me and Becky back to the hospital yesterday. It was very emotional for me but Becky was happy to go back, she just feels safer there at the moment. It is very hard feeling that you can't protect your own child but unfortunately that is the nature of her illness. Hopefully the next time she gets some leave she will have learned better ways to cope.
Look at it this way: you are doing the very best thing for Becky by allowing her to go to a place where there are professional people who deal with this sort of thing all the time, who have the expertise to help her. This makes you the very best mother she could wish for.

After getting rid of the mice we now have a rat  just the one that we can see as he sits on the bird table snaffling all the seed, is hard to know what to do as can't put poison down with the dogs etc, what we need is to borrow someone's Terrier!
Oh lawks, I hate wild rats; they freak me out! You could do with the two little dogs who stayed with me recently, one was a JRT the other was JRT x Chihuahua.
Didn't help that he had forgotten his hearing aid, he really needs 2 of them but that suggestion has fallen on deaf ears :rotfl:. Ok I'll get my coat !
I could do with two, but 1. I can't afford two, and 2. I fear I'd feel sort of "shut in" in a claustrophobic way with things poked in both ears; I can't use earplugs for that reason. So maybe your Dad feels the same way? :o

We have a poorly pc. We've just packed it up in its original box ready to be collected togo to "pc hospital" tomorrow. :(

I've told Mr LW if he wants to use the laptop (which is mine) he's going to have to be very nice to me. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Judi thanks- yes he's probably right :(.We've had a couple of people change their minds about having their extensions done too so people do seem a bit jittery x

Hes not far from Tenby i believe. Working on a school i think. I asked him if the 4 hours was because of traffic or whether it was because his motor isnt very fast... He said it was his motor not being fast. Its a mini 4wd, built for offroading but not brilliant on the motorway. Its happy doing 60 but any faster than that and it isnt keen. Words like:
"it will be great in the snow," "it will tow your folding camper a doddle,"theres loads of room in the back for the tools, shopping and the dogs"
Ive even tried "you arent getting rid of it, i like it" are helping. Not that he listens to me mind.
