Happy Birthday Hardup Hester :bdaycake:
I've had a few ummmm..... interesting days - the doctor has given me the wrong version of one of the dressings for my leg and I'm allergic to it. It hurt a lot but it's starting to calm down now. However, onwards and upwards - I need to make mocha squares for the HT this morning and I have a hospital appointment this afternoon.
I decluttered our spare room on Saturday. How that much junk came out of a room that small I have no idea! On Sunday I felt really ill, but managed to sort my bedroom out so that all of my books are in the bookcase, Christmas presents all in one place and all my winter clothes are in my wardrobe. I had to have a lot of rests but it was worth it.
Take care all of you, extra hugs to the worried ones and a super squishy hug to Becky who is being so brave.0 -

Morning everyone,
Like elsewhere it's much milder here today, feeling a tad better after my day on the sofa so will head over to the yard this morning and then it's off to get a haircut later. I really should start to think about buying a few presents but cant find any enthusiasm for the job, the first Christmas without my lovely Mum is looming and right now I just want it to go away!
After getting rid of the mice we now have a rat  just the one that we can see as he sits on the bird table snaffling all the seed, is hard to know what to do as can't put poison down with the dogs etc, what we need is to borrow someone's Terrier!
Many happy returns of the day Hester hope it's a good one.
Glad to read that your OH has found some work Judi
Thinking of Dumpling, LW and all those with worries and cares.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning everyone
Happy Birthday Hester x
Cranky40 - hope you're feeling better. Last year I suffered the same sort of allergic reaction to dressings put on me by the sister at our local doctors, and finished up once at the Doc's concerned who didn't really help, just gave me 2 x loads of tabs, got worse so 12 hours later at A & E who did what they could because I'd started taking what the Doc's had prescribed, then sent home at 1.45am on the Saturday morning, had an awful night on the Saturday night into the Sunday morning, and was so poorly DH rang for an ambulance but they wouldn't send one as I was still breathing unassisted, he took me, and A & E docs took him to one side and told him off for not calling an ambulance, he was told I would have died if it had been left too much longer. It's a horrible sensation when your throat closes and you struggle to breath, swallow and then your breathing becomes laboured, horrid.
I hope your notes now have that you have an allergic reaction to that particular dressing, as next time it's generally a worse reaction, this is the advice from the Docs, apparently it's now on my notes if I have any sort of allergic reaction I have to be blue lighted straight to nearest hospital. They say that allergic reactions get worse and can go to anaphlactic (sp?) and possibly fatal episodes. I was feeling really poorly for quite a while, once they'd given me all the strong drugs intravenously as I was so poorly, I was on 1 a day meds from the day it happened June 19th 2016 until January 2017 - as every time I stopped taking them all the rash and symptoms came back, first time I've ever had an allergic episode like that and hoping it's the last!
Hope you don't mind me posting, but be careful and take it easy, if you feel unwell go to the Docs or A&E, don't wait. The scariest part of allergic reactions, is how quickly you become very very poorly. I think that was the part that scared me and DH the most.
Keep safe and well x

Judi Good news about Grump’s jobIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Well that was the night from hell, OH snoring, I went and got in the bed in the sewing room, still could not sleep. 5.45 I gave up the ghost and got up, the shed was due fir delivery between 6 and 7am......can you believe that? It arrived at 6.30 just as I was thinking about sleeping. The chap refused to carry it round into the back garden, its been left on the front grass. I signed for it, OH announced he had fallen in the bedroom again........I made him get back into bed, there was no need for him to get up. Front door bell rang, chap had delivered the wrong shed...aarrgghhhh............ I just shut the door and let him get on with it.
Tried to sleep, nothing doing......so am up and dressed.
Weather is rank, very misty, so the laundry will have to go on the airer, no way I can get it dry on the line.
Altogether not a happy start to the day here.0 -

Good morning all,
HHester Happy Birthday hope you have a lovely day
Oh dear Csarina-hope your day gets better.
Must have rained a lot here in the night, theres a lot of water coming down the river in the bottom, took Ly1a down the steps for a look.Didnt go any further when I saw the black Lab from a nearby house had escaped and was prancing about near the water and his owner trying to catch him.He is a little, shall we say feisty :eek:whenever our paths cross. As I was hovering, our next door but one neighbour crossed the bridge and stopped for a chat,Ly1a barked her head off until she realised she knew him.Nice to know she'd protect me against strange men :T
I've been busy making my Crimbo cards and wrote about half of them last night.I set up a little production line in the kitchen yesterday,it was very relaxing especially as the men were out.
Judi glad grump has found some work,we are still struggling.DH & DS work mainly in the domestic building sector and its been the worst 6 months I can remember since DH became self employed shortly after we married 42 years ago .It doesnt help that they are waiting for a job on a house where the owner is doing a lot of the work himself and doesn't seem to know what he's doing really-they were meant to start 6-8 weeks ago. Still as DS says -its only money, &it got put into perspective when my cousin let me know her expected new grandchild had been stillborn on Sunday
I have a free ticket for the football tonight,my friends DH can't go,Not seen her for a few weeks so that'll cheer me up a bit. I need to look in the freezer for an easy meal for tea.The house isnt too bad as I had a good tidy up at the weekend.
Hugs to anyone who wants one & dumpling and Becky xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
